NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, May 6

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: Jalen Brunson
squirrelpatrol: Jalen Brunson
kmurray03: Jalen Brunson

Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Notorious: Isaiah Hartenstein – I was hesitant to target him in the first round because Joel Embiid is one of the best in the NBA at drawing fouls. I mean, he got Hartenstein to commit 5 fouls in a single quarter in one of the games. The second round matchup sets up a lot better for Hartenstein, at least when it comes to the foul trouble situation. Myles Turner doesn’t draw nearly as many fouls, as he’s not the focal point of Indiana’s offense. If Hartenstein gets off to a nice start, I like his chances of playing 30 minutes tonight.

squirrelpatrol: Nikola Jokic – The IND/NYK game should monopolize ownership on this slate, but there is always a chance that game busts. If that game results in fewer fantasy points for the starters, the MIN/DEN game could be the game to be overweight on. Jokic played 40 minutes in Game 1 of this series and put up 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists. If this game is competitive, Jokic has an excellent shot at putting up a triple-double and being the highest scorer on the slate.

kmurray03: Naz Reid – This play could quickly turn chalky if we get news on Rudy Gobert (midday downgrade to questionable) prior to the first game tipping off, but it sounds like Gobert is highly questionable as he awaits the birth of his first child. Even if Gobert plays, Reid is firmly in consideration, as he played 23 minutes in Game 1 and has a path to more minutes if Nikola Jokic can get Gobert (or even Karl-Anthony Towns) in foul trouble. Reid has not been very productive in the playoffs, as he is averaging just 0.82 fantasy points per minute, but I’d still prefer to rely on his larger sample in the regular season (1.07 FPPM).
