What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

tcsmith031: This looks like a fantastic slate, and I’ll play a mix of single-entry and 20-max contests. The early games feature some of the best pay-up options on the board, but I also like the idea of game stacking a couple of expensive pieces from LAL/NYK together. These teams play very condensed rotations, and there’s upside at what should be limited ownership if the game stays competitive.

Krayton: I will be focusing on single-entry tournaments, and as it stands midday, there are quite a few Minnesota players and cheap Denver players who are projecting well. It appears guys like Amen Thompson, Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Nikola Jokic are coming in with pretty low ownership projections, and they are guys I will be targeting to mix-and-match with the value plays. Naz Reid is a cheaper guy I will be overweight on, and then I will look to get different with my spend-up options.

ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments. Naz Reid will be close to a lock for me. Aaron Gordon will likely be in over half my lineups as well, as he’s too cheap for the role he’s been playing recently. All games lock within 90 minutes of one another on DraftKings, and there aren’t many impactful players with Q tags, so I won’t plan to backload my lineups as much as I sometimes do for late-swap opportunities.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing large-field tournaments, with somewhere between 100 and 150 lineups. There are many teams on the second half of a back-to-back that are dealing with injuries (in particular the Nuggets), so it’ll be incredibly important to pay attention to the injury news throughout the day and be ready to adjust. As it stands right now, Naz Reid is the top value, with the Nuggets cheapies as my favorite options to build around. Then I’ll play as much Anthony Edwards, LeBron James, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, and Victor Wembanyama as possible.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
