What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
tcsmith031: I’ll stick with a few 20-max contests. I want to spread my exposure fairly evenly among the expensive stars, which should give me a nice mix of different roster constructions. A balanced build with the red-hot Donovan Mitchell as the priciest piece looks good on paper, while I don’t mind embracing some risk and jamming Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander into some stars-and-scrubs lineups. I’ll also max-2 the trio of Bennedict Mathurin, Andrew Nembhard, and Aaron Nesmith. I will max-1 the OKC group of Lu Dort, Alex Caruso, and Cason Wallace.
Krayton: I have been playing mostly single-entry contests throughout the NBA playoffs. However, I like the 20-entry-max contests today, as there are a couple of different ways I like going. Myles Turner is a play I love at center, and pairing him and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be fairly popular. Taylor has a similar strategy that I want to get to in my builds, as I like getting some exposure to both SGA and Nikola Jokic. It’s hard to do, but I like the upside potential with getting a lower-pOWN% Jokic in my lineups, especially on FanDuel where you can only play one center.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – There isn’t a lot of great value, so I’ll likely play mostly balanced lineups. I like some pretty contrarian plays, particularly Peyton Watson and Tyrese Haliburton, but I’ll also play a good amount of chalk. And on a 2-game slate, as usual, I’ll game-stack more than I typically would.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
