NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, March 19
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
tcsmith031: Evan Mobley
headChopper: Evan Mobley
Dean78904: Evan Mobley
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
tcsmith031: I’ll play a few single-entry tournaments. There’s merit to rolling with a balanced build given the absence of standout cheap value. While I’d like to get up to Luka Doncic, I won’t mind building around Evan Mobley and Jalen Duren if it will help me to avoid sketchy chalk cheapies like Kris Dunn and Dean Wade.
headChopper: I will be focusing on a single lineup in small-field tournaments that have limited entries. With Cade Cunningham down with an injury for the foreseeable future, the pOWN% has Detroit shaping up to be a very popular team. However, there are really only a couple of players I want from that roster despite the injury. So guys like Caris LeVert, Ausar Thompson, and Marcus Sasser won’t make my lineup, which means I’ll be fading some popular plays. The Lakers are another spot where, outside of Austin Reaves, I don’t want any pieces of a team on a back-to-back traveling to Miami. My favorite spend-up in tournaments is a lower-projected, lower-pOWN% Josh Giddey, which helps get me different from the field.
Dean78904: I focus mostly on single-entry and smaller-field tournaments. We have 2 games that start at 7:00 PM ET, and the remaining 4 tip off at 8:00 PM ET. Luka Doncic, LeBron James, Austin Reaves, Kawhi Leonard, and Donovan Mitchell are all questionable as of early afternoon, and their games start in the 8:00 window. Who knows when we will get clarity on these meaningful players, but it is possible we’ll have uncertainty as we close in on lock. There is no way I’m entirely fading Detroit, but I expect to avoid ORL/CHA (which is the other 7:00 game) to give myself some roster flexibility if things get goofy.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
