What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. Even though the Bulls don’t have the best matchup on the slate, they are projected to score the same number of points as their season average despite trading Zach LaVine and ruling out Lonzo Ball. The two players that I want to be overweight on here are Josh Giddey and Nikola Vucevic. The former can fill up the stat sheet and should see an uptick in playing time, while the latter is at his cheapest price point in quite some time.
headChopper: I’m running one lineup, entering it in some large-field GPPs (just in case I hit the nuts) but primarily focusing on single-entry, smaller-field contests. So far, news is light, and I don’t particularly like the last game for DFS purposes—assuming all the stars play, which seems to be the case right now. Because of that, I may load up on players from the first three games, especially the NYK/IND matchup, and hope for no major late news that would put me at a disadvantage.
tcsmith031: I’ll mix 20-max and single-entry GPPs. The Suns look like a solid source of value with Bradley Beal still missing from the lineup, yet the Grizzlies aren’t projected for a ton of ownership on the other side of the game. Memphis has the highest total on the slate, and I plan to force 1-2 of them into any lineup that uses at least 3 players from the Phoenix side. If the Suns greatly exceed value, it’s pretty likely that someone from the Memphis side got there too.
h3. Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
