NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, April 17

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: DeMar DeRozan
squirrelpatrol: DeMar DeRozan
headChopper: DeMar DeRozan

Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Notorious: Tyrese Maxey – As long as Joel Embiid is active (he was able to practice the last two days), Maxey is going to fly under the radar. Many just assume the entire Sixers lineup takes a hit when playing alongside Embiid, but that’s actually not the case. They say a rising tide lifts all boats, and that could be the case here. Maxey has averaged 44.4 fantasy points per game with Embiid in the lineup and 42.3 fantasy points with Embiid out of the lineup.

squirrelpatrol: Nikola JovicCaleb Martin should benefit from the injury to Terry Rozier, but Jovic gets a boost as well and is seeing less pOWN% on both sites. On a slate that could be thin on value, Jovic is cheaper than Martin and averaged 9.2 points per game after the All-Star Break compared to 6 points per game before the break.

headChopper: Tyrese Maxey – With Joel Embiid back, I think perhaps the ownership dips a bit on Maxey. Everything is relative on a 2-game slate, so a star player under 25% owned is actually on the low side. Embiid will be dealing with Bam Adebayo, who has performed well at limiting Embiid in the past. Meanwhile, Maxey is the matchup nightmare that Miami doesn’t have an answer for. They are not built to contend with his speed.
