NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, January 6

Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?

tcsmith031: The Wizards have allowed the 2nd-most points in the paint per game this season (58.6), while they have the NBA’s worst rebounding rate. In related news, Julius Randle and Isaiah Hartenstein look like pretty alluring plays against this woeful frontcourt.

Krayton: With Dillon Brooks out, it is actually Jalen Green who has seen the biggest usage bump (6%), and he has usually been around the 30-minute mark with Brooks out as well. His price has come down, making him a decent mid-range value. We are also getting two teams on the slate that play at the fastest pace in the league- Indiana and Washington.

TastefulTides: We have been picking on the Pacers’ lackluster defense all season, and that is for good reason, as they rank 27th in defensive rating. With that being said, over their last 5 games, they are middle of the pack and rank 15th in defensive rating. They are currently on a 6-game win streak and have been much better on the defensive end of the court. They draw a tough matchup against the Celtics, but I don’t think the Celtics are in as big of a smash spot as the overall field might.

TJ Zwarych: Without De’Anthony Melton, Tobias Harris, or Robert Covington on the court, Tyrese Maxey has seen the biggest usage bump (11.8% increase). Kelly Oubre is second, with a 5.6% jump.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
