NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, March 9
Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
tcsmith031: Nikola Jokic – The Jazz have been starting John Collins at center of late, and this isn’t an imposing frontcourt to begin with. Jokic still has a slightly higher FP/minute average (1.78) than Luka Doncic (1.77) on the season, and he’s not priced egregiously around the industry. The Nuggets are also hunting the No. 1 seed in the West, which is why we’ve seen Jokic log at least 38 minutes in each of the last 4 games. He’s a terrific play in all formats.
Krayton: Immanuel Quickley – Quickley has been playing great with Scottie Barnes out, and in his last outing, he put up 62.8 DK points against the Suns. His price actually went down a bit on DK, and he is now averaging 1.4 FP/minute. There are a lot of great point guard options, as Quickley, Cade Cunningham, Jamal Murray, and Luka Doncic are players I want exposure to. But Quickley is one of my favorite plays on the slate with the Raptors still missing several players.
TastefulTides: Luka Doncic – Much like it has been all season, it’s a real toss-up between Doncic and Nikola Jokic for top play on a given slate. Both players are in fantastic spots, but I will lean on Doncic tonight. They are both in great pace matchups and facing horrible defenses. I think the DAL/DET game stays relatively close, so I am leaning into building into this game heavily. I can’t do that without starting with Luka. He also projects better than Jokic by points per dollar and RGValue.
TJ Zwarych: Immanuel Quickley – I was torn between Quickley and Cade Cunningham here, despite how great of spots Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic are in as well. However, I strongly prefer the mid-range tonight, so I’ll rank the likes of IQ and Cade above the higher-priced spend-ups. Quickley is coming off a game where he scored 62.75 DK points, and he has been the Raptors’ top option ever since Scottie Barnes went down. Both Toronto and Portland are so poor that they’re usually getting blown out, but that likely won’t be an issue tonight against each other in a game with a 3-point spread.
