Happy Friday!

I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving. We now have a 3-day weekend to look forward to. Between the plans, the cooking, and the eating, I have officially been added to the injury report. Don’t worry, I’m still probable and planning to play through the grogginess.

We have 11 NBA games on the schedule tonight. All of the games are included on FanDuel’s main slate, while only the first 6 games are included on DraftKings’ main slate. We also have a rare Friday afternoon NFL game between the Bears and Eagles. We have the Grind Down, the Expert Survey, and projections in LineupHQ.

Grab your caffeine of choice. Let’s talk some hoops.

Team Previews

Wagner of the Magic

Orlando Magic (at DET)

We kick off tonight’s slate with the Magic, who draw a difficult matchup against the Pistons, who are 7th in points allowed per game and 5th in defensive rating. The Magic have a team total that is 4 points lower than their season average. Paolo Banchero and Moe Wagner are still out.

Desmond Bane, Jalen Suggs, and Franz Wagner have all played well in Banchero’s absence, but consistency hasn’t been their strong suit. Bane has had a usage rate of at least 25% in each of his last 4 games, Suggs has topped 40 fantasy points in 2 of his last 7 games, and Franz Wagner has topped 50 fantasy points in 2 of his last 7 games. All three are viable in tournaments, but I wouldn’t consider any of them priorities on this slate.

Detroit Pistons (vs. ORL)

The Pistons are playing at home, but they have a below-average matchup against the Magic. They come into the game as 3.5-point favorites and have a team total that is nearly identical to their season average. Jaden Ivey is listed as questionable.

The Pistons are one of the healthiest teams in the league, which is rarely what we want to see for DFS these days. To make matters worse, they have a below-average matchup. Jalen Duren (50+ fantasy points in 4 of his last 9 games) and Cade Cunningham (1.48 DK / 1.43 FD points per minute) aren’t the worst tournament options, but they aren’t on my radar.
