Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Tuesday, April 2nd
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Happy Tuesday!
It’s hard to believe, but there are less than two weeks left in the regular season. It feels like 8-10 teams have had their fates decided since the start of the season. The rest have been battling it out for playoff seeding. It’s always a strange time of year when some teams absolutely need to win, some teams would rather lose than win, and some teams don’t have a lot to play for, given the fact that they can’t move up or down in the standings. We have 9 games on the schedule tonight, but only 7 of them are featured on the main slates for FanDuel and DraftKings.
Spring break is officially over (after 11 days without school), so I have a quiet house for the first time in a long time. My productivity is going to be through the roof today. If you ever have any questions about the slate, about individual players, or about strategy in general, please reach out to me in the RG Discord. One of my favorite parts of this job is being able to help wherever I can.
Let’s dive into tonight’s slate.

Team Previews
Los Angeles Lakers (at TOR): We kick off the slate with the Lakers, who have won 7 of their last 10 games. They have moved up to 9th in the Western Conference standings but will need a strong close to move up into the 7th or 8th seed. They have struggled on the road (15-21) but draw a nice matchup against the Raptors, who have been one of the best matchups for fantasy production over the last month of play. The Lakers are 12-point favorites and have a team total that is 4.6 points higher than their season average. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both listed as questionable, so we’ll have to keep an eye on their availability. If one is out, the other will naturally benefit. Even with both in the projections right now, four players on the Lakers have positive RGValues. This shows how favorable their matchup against the Raptors is tonight.
Toronto Raptors (vs. LAL): The Raptors have lost 13 games in a row and have been playing without their key players over the last few weeks. Tonight they host the Lakers, who are 4th in pace and 14th in defensive rating this season. The Raptors are large underdogs but have a respectable total of 110.3 points. This game has sneaky shootout potential if the Raptors can keep it competitive. Scottie Barnes, Jakob Poeltl, Gary Trent, Chris Boucher, Jontay Porter, and Ochai Agbaji have all been ruled out. With RJ Barrett back from injury, I am treating Immanuel Quickley and Kelly Olynyk as large-field tournament options. If you need mid-range plays to round out lineups, you can certainly do worse than Bruce Brown and Jordan Nwora.
