Even though Christmas is behind us, the schedule doesn’t slow down. It’s bowl season in college football, the NBA is in full swing, golf starts back up next week, and the NFL is gearing up for its playoff run. We also have New Year’s this weekend.
I’ve never been a huge New Year’s Eve fan myself. There were too many drama and puke-filled nights with friends in my early 20s. However, I much prefer the holiday now that I have a kid. My friend always hosts a party with a bunch of games for the kids and we celebrate the Eastern Time Zone ball drop. It’s a great time and we are all home by 10:30. The older I get, the more I cherish being in my bed at a reasonable time.
As for tonight, we have 6 games on the schedule. Five teams are playing in the second half of a back-to-back and one team playing in the front end of a back-to-back. There are some major injuries to monitor tonight, as Luka Doncic, Donovan Mitchell, and Giannis Antetokounmpo are all listed as questionable.

6:55 PM ET – Tim Hardaway will play tonight.
6:40 PM ET – Kyle Kuzma will play tonight.
6:35 PM ET – Gary Trent will start tonight, which moves Dennis Schroder to the bench. This will likely result in more minutes for Trent and a higher usage rate for Schroder. This does make Trent more appealing, but I am not prioritizing him over Dennis Smith or Day’Ron Sharpe when it comes to the top value plays on the board.
6:20 PM ET – Giannis Antetokounmpo will play tonight.
6:00 PM ET – Here are the players still listed as questionable for tonight’s game:
