Orlando
The Magic have had a tough road trip. This is the last stop on their 5 game road trip. In their previous 4 games, they have lost by an average of more than 20 points per game. That really makes me nervous about their game tonight with the Mavericks. That said, the Magic are plagued with injuries and if the game stays close, there will be some great fantasy options here. Both Nikola Vucevic and Arron Afflalo have been ruled out tonight which gives a huge boost to Oladipo, Harris, and Davis. All of which I will be taking a chance on tonight.
- Victor Oladipo – Oladipo is one of my favorite plays tonight. With Afflalo out, he should see big minutes tonight. He can really fill up the stat sheet and post numbers in all areas of the statsheet.
- Tobias Harris – His offensive game certainly needs some work, but when he gets the ball in the open floor, there are few players better at attacking the rim. I love his price tonight and think he should have a great game with all of the injuries to the Magic players.
- Glen Davis – Davis is probably the safest play of the Magic bunch tonight. He seems to be able to top 25 FP’s with ease each game and that should continue tonight against the Mavs.
Dallas
The Mavericks have a solid matchup tonight, but the blowout potential is certainly there in this game. The Mavs are double-digit favorites against a very short-handed Magic team. The Magic have not defended any position well this season and while I like the matchup for both Monta Ellis and Dirk Nowitzki, but I will likely be using them sparingly. If Shawn Marion is out, look for Jae Crowder to be a decent value play at the SF position.
Denver at Utah
- Vegas Line – No Lines Set for This Game Yet
- Denver Proj. Starters – Lawson-Foye-Miller-Faried-Hickson
- Utah Proj. Starters – Burke-Hayward-Jefferson-Williams-Favors
Denver
The Nuggets travel to Utah to take on the Jazz in what should be a high scoring game. The total in this game is set at 203 points and the Nuggets are only 5 point favorites. The Jazz have struggled to defend PG’s, SF’s, and Centers this season. While the Nuggets will be getting Wilson Chandler back, he will be coming off of the bench and will likely be on a minutes restriction.
- Ty Lawson – Lawson should play well tonight against the Jazz who have really struggled to defend the PG position over the last two weeks. Lawson has been playing well and should post a nice double-double tonight.
- J.J. Hickson – Hickson is one of the most frustrating fantasy players out there because he is so hit or miss each night. That said, I like the matchup and the upside that he has against the Jazz. He makes a great GPP play tonight.
Utah
The Jazz have a couple of injuries of note tonight. Both Gordon Hayward and Marvin Williams missed this morning’s shootaround and both are considered questionable at best for tonight’s game. Hopefully we will get an update on their status before the tip off of the first game.
- Trey Burke – Burke has really played well at home this season and has averaged more than 25 FP’s per game there. I like his matchup against Lawson and he could get a nice boost if Hayward is out. I think Burke makes a great upside play at PG.
- Derrick Favors – Favors has been a boom or bust type of player all season long. While that hurts his value for cash games, I think you can trust him tonight. He should post a big double-double against the weak interior of the Nuggets.
