NBA Player Props Today – Friday, April 5, 2024

James Harden Over/Under 17.5 Points

James Harden took 23 shot attempts last night – 23! It was a season-high in volume for the veteran point guard, with Kawhi Leonard out of the lineup. Leonard will not be on the floor tonight either, which should mean plenty of shot attempts for Harden against a poor Utah defense. Since the All-Star break, the Jazz are allowing more points per 100 possessions than any other team in the NBA. Harden should be able to get the job done here if he’s somewhat efficient from the field.

Victor Wembanyama Over/Under 26.5 Points

Victor Wembanyama scored 40 points on Friday against the Knicks and 32 points on Sunday against the Warriors, but he’s likely to have a difficult time tonight against a strong Pelicans defense. There is also the matter that Wembanyama has scored more than 26 points only 10 times in his last 30 games, including only 4 of his last 10 contests. This is a tough matchup for a young player, and the market is too high on him from a probabilistic perspective. The math favors the under in this spot.

Devin Booker Over/Under 27.5 Points

Devin Booker enters play having scored 92 points across his last two games, but his run of dominance is likely to come to an end tonight against the Timberwolves. Since the All-Star break, Minnesota ranks 2nd in defensive rating and 21st in pace – not exactly a recipe for offensive explosion. The Timberwolves are particularly strong defensively on the perimeter against opposing guards, making this a very difficult matchup for Booker. We will live with the results.
