NBA Player Props Today – Monday, October 30

Simmons Over/Under 24.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
On Friday, Ben Simmons totaled 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists in 32 minutes of action for the Nets. As we have noted in this article twice already this season, Simmons is moving extremely well and looks as healthy as we have seen him in years. According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Nic Claxton was “still in a boot” at practice on Sunday, which makes it unlikely he suits up on Monday against the Hornets. Assuming that is the case, Simmons should be in line for another 30+ minutes, and his scoring should remain close to double figures with more spacing around him on the floor. This market number continues to be too low for Simmons, who is playing at a high level to begin the new campaign.

Ball Over/Under 20.5 Points
In two games to begin the season, LaMelo Ball is averaging only 17.5 points, but his point total has been hindered dramatically by the fact that he is shooting only 25% from the field. His volume has still been excellent, with 15 shot attempts in his season debut and 17 shot attempts on Friday against the Pistons. On Monday, Ball gets his most favorable matchup to date, playing a Brooklyn team that ranks 29th in defensive efficiency, 19th in opponent field goal percentage, and 25th in opponent three-point percentage so far this season. Ball averaged 23.3 points per game last season, and Charlotte lost Kelly Oubre during the offseason, who was 3rd on the team with 20.3 points per night. It would be shocking to see Ball regress to fewer than 20 points per game this season. This is a great opportunity for him to get back on track.

Siakam More/Less Than 21.5 Points
Each of the last four seasons, Pascal Siakam has averaged more points per game on his home floor than he has on the road. Thus, it has been particularly surprising to see him score only 15 points and 11 points, respectively, in his first two home games to begin the new campaign. Scottie Barnes has taken a notable step forward in the offense early this season, but it is doubtful that Siakam continues to play third fiddle in an offense that lacks a clearly-defined superstar. Part of Siakam struggling is attributable to the fact that he is shooting only 37.5% from the field through his first three games. He has a great opportunity to get on the right track on Monday, facing a Portland team that ranks 28th in defensive efficiency, 25th in opponent field goal percentage, and 30th in opponent free throws allowed per game so far this season.
