Thursday’s NBA slate features only 4 games, but fans won’t be short on star power, with players like Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Victor Wembanyama expected to be in action.

As always, be sure to keep an eye on the NBA injury report ahead of tip-off. Chet Holmgren has already been ruled out, but Franz Wagner and Marvin Bagley are both listed as questionable as of this writing. Their potential absences could create opportunities on the player prop market if they are ultimately ruled out.

Below, you can find 3 of my favorite picks for Thursday, October 30th!

Stephen Curry UNDER 4.5 Three-Pointers Made (-125, BetMGM)

Curry averaged 4.4 made 3-pointers per game last season, which was his fewest in a healthy campaign since 2016-2017. Through 5 games this year, Curry is averaging a career-low 30.4 minutes per game, which seems to be an intentional effort to keep the 37-year-old healthy throughout the year as Golden State hunts one last championship with their current core.

Milwaukee isn’t known for their perimeter defense, but they rank a respectable 13th in opponent field goal percentage allowed on above-the-break 3-point attempts this season. Curry has only attempted more than 9 shots from beyond the arc in 2 of their first 5 games – absent a significant uptick in volume, he’d likely need to be extremely efficient to go over this number tonight.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OVER 32.5 Points (-122, DraftKings)

Add this pick with 1 click!PLACE THIS BET ONDRAFTKINGS

Gilgeous-Alexander has gone under this number in 3 consecutive games, but that’s due, in part, to an uncharacteristically low rate of getting to the line.

After attempting 40 free throws through Oklahoma City’s first 2 games this season, Gilgeous-Alexander has attempted only 8 total free throws in his subsequent 3 contests. That could change tonight, however, facing a Washington defense that has allowed the 7th-most free throws per game this season.

According to RotoGrinders CourtIQ, Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 40.9 points per 36 minutes last season with Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams off of the floor. Though that number is likely unsustainable over the course of an entire season, it shows just how high his ceiling is on a nightly basis with slightly reduced competition for shots.

Julian Champagnie OVER 8.5 Points (-120, bet365)

Add this pick with 1 click!PLACE THIS BET ONBET365

Champagnie has quietly been putting together a strong start to the season, averaging 8.5 points in 29 minutes per game. He’s been particularly good in his 2 home games, scoring 13 points against the Nets and 9 points against the Raptors, respectively.

De’Aaron Fox and Jeremy Sochan both remain out, which should mean no major changes to the team’s rotations against the Heat. If Champagnie has 7+ shot attempts, he should have a great chance to hit the over on his points prop.
