NBA Player Props Today – Tuesday, December 5, 2023

Khris Middleton Over/Under 13.5 Points

Khris Middleton is obviously no longer capable of averaging 20 points per game like he did in his prime. That said, he is still talented enough to put on a good show when he has enough rest and when the matchup allows. According to props.cash, Middleton has scored at least 15 points in each of the three games he has played with two days of rest ahead of tip-off.

Going back into past seasons, Middleton is 11-for-14 to the over at this market number when playing on two days of rest, and two of his three misses were games in which he scored exactly 13 points. Small forwards have played well against the Knicks this season, which only further supports the likelihood of Middleton having a strong performance on Tuesday night.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Over/Under 47.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 19.0 field goal attempts per game this year, 11.2 of which are coming in the restricted area. The Knicks have allowed the 10th-fewest opponent field goals per game in the restricted area across the last month of action while allowing the fewest opponent free throw attempts of any team in the NBA during that stretch.

On the glass, Antetokounmpo is likely to have his work cut out for him against a New York team that ranks 2nd in the NBA in rebound percentage and has allowed the second-fewest opponent rebounds in the league since November 6. According to props.cash, the last power forward to have double-digit rebounds against the Knicks was Evan Mobley on October 31. The last center to have more than 12 rebounds against New York was Clint Capela on October 27.

In the last month, the Knicks have not allowed a power forward to collect more than five assists in a single game. Overall, New York is allowing opponent assists at a lower rate than the league-average team, which makes this a tough spot for Antetokounmpo as well.

There are strong arguments to be made that Antetokounmpo could go under his points prop, rebounds prop, and assists prop individually. The probability of him dramatically surpassing his market number in any of these three categories is low this evening, making the under on his combination stats the way to fade him tonight.

Bobby Portis More/Less Than 7.5 Rebounds

Entering play on Tuesday, Bobby Portis is averaging only 6.7 rebounds on 11.6 rebounds chances per game this season. Tonight, he gets a difficult matchup against a New York team that ranks 2nd in rebound percentage and has allowed the 2nd-fewest opponent rebounds per game during the last 30 days of action. When these two teams met for the first time this year, Portis had only 2 rebounds in 17 minutes of action. It’s unlikely we’ll see a spectacular rebounding game from him this evening – even in a playoff-like environment.
