Best NBA Player Props for Tuesday, January 27th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on Tuesday, January 27th:
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over/Under 32.5 Points
- DeMar DeRozan Over/Under 5.5 Rebounds + Assists
- Kyle Filipowski Over/Under 19.5 Points + Rebounds
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OVER 32.5 Points (-108, FanDuel)
Gilgeous-Alexander scored only 24 points on Sunday against the Raptors, but he gets a much more favorable matchup against New Orleans. The Thunder are once again going to be thin on healthy bodies, which should necessitate Gilgeous-Alexander being aggressive on the offensive end of the floor.
The best news for his offensive production is that New Orleans isn’t particularly adept at defending without fouling. Expect Gilgeous-Alexander to work his way to the free-throw line plenty of times in addition to his normal offensive shooting volume.
DeMar DeRozan OVER 5.5 Rebounds + Assists (-120, bet365)
According to CourtIQ, DeRozan is averaging 2.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per 30 minutes this season with Zach LaVine off of the floor. In 13 games with LaVine unavailable, DeRozan has cleared this number 8 times and only had fewer than 5 rebounds + assists once in his last 10 such games.
New York is one of the better overall rebounding teams in the NBA, but they have allowed the 5th-most rebounds per game to guards in their last 8 contests. Similarly, they have allowed the 5th-most assists per game to guards in that span.
This is good value for DeRozan to fill up the stat sheet this evening.
Kyle Filipowski UNDER 19.5 Points + Rebounds (-110, BetMGM)
The absence of Jusuf Nurkic and Keyonte George doesn’t automatically equal a bump in production for Filipowski. Earlier this month, with both Nurkic and George out, Filipowski only played 28 minutes.
According to CourtIQ, he’s averaging 12.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per 30 minutes this season with Nurkic and George off of the floor, and that includes games in which Lauri Markkanen has been unavailable. Filipowski hadn’t played more than 20 minutes in either of the team’s last 2 games with Markkanen available when Nurkic sat.
If Filipowski plays closer to 24 minutes or fewer, the math strongly favors the under.
