NBA Player Props Today – Tuesday, January 28, 2025

Trae Young UNDER 25.5 Points (-125, DraftKings)

Houston’s defense has struggled to defend guards of late, but this is still a tall number for Young. Entering play, Young is averaging only 22.8 points per game this season and has scored 26+ points in only 15 of 42 games, including only 6 of 20 home games.

In those 20 home games, Young is averaging only 20.9 points on 37.8% shooting from the field. The Rockets’ defense is likely better than what they have shown in recent weeks. If they can do a reasonably good job defending without fouling, Young is going to have a difficult time flirting with 30 points.

Jalen Green UNDER 4.5 Rebounds (-120, DraftKings)

Since December 23rd, Amen Thompson has played 31+ minutes in all 14 games he’s been healthy. His increased playing time has resulted in fewer opportunities on the glass for Green. In those 14 games that Thompson has been available, Green has posted 4 rebounds or fewer in 11 of those games.

During that time period, Green is averaging only 3.5 rebounds on 6.5 rebound chances per game. Atlanta funnels a lot of rebound chances to opposing guards, but this is still a tall number for Green.

Stephen Curry UNDER 31.5 Points + Assists (-102, FanDuel)

The Jazz enter play with an uninspiring 10-34 record, but their defense has made marginal improvements of late. In January, Utah ranks a respectable 18th in defensive rating. They haven’t been a particularly great matchup for opposing guards in that stretch either, allowing only the 10th-most field goal attempts per game, while defending the perimeter better than the league-average defense.

Curry has gone over this market number in only 14 of 37 games this season, including only 7 of 19 home games. The math favors the under.
