Happy New Year’s Eve! The final calendar day of 2025 features a 5-game evening slate. The action begins at 7:00 p.m. ET, with all of tonight’s games scheduled to conclude with plenty of time to spare before the ball drops in Manhattan.

Josh Giddey, Josh Hart, and Nikola Jokic are 3 of the biggest names on the NBA injury report tonight.

As always, be sure to use tools like CourtIQ and our NBA starting lineups page to evaluate how injuries impact usage and to search for inefficiencies in the player prop and DFS markets.

Below, you can find 3 of my favorite picks for Wednesday, December 31st!

Best NBA Player Props for Wednesday, December 31st

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on Wednesday, December 31st:

RotoGrindersGoogleTrustedSource

Ayo Dosunmu OVER 4.5 Assists (+110, BetMGM)

Dosunmu is averaging 5.0 assists per 36 minutes this season with both Coby White and Josh Giddey off of the floor. Since Zion Williamson returned from injury on December 14, New Orleans ranks 15th in defensive rating and 5th in pace, allowing the 5th-most assists per game in that span.

Dosunmu should be in for a dramatically expanded role this evening with Chicago missing a pair of significant play makers. The bigger role and the plus matchup should give him an opportunity to shine.

Jonas Valanciunas UNDER 30.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-120, FanDuel)

Purely from a mathematical perspective, this line is extremely inflated.

Yes, Valanciunas has produced strong per-minute numbers this season with Nikola Jokic off of the floor. Yes, Valanciunas should see an increase in minutes this evening with Jokic sidelined.

That being said, Valanciunas is 6’11’’ and 265 pounds at 33 years old and hasn’t played more than 19 minutes in any game this season. No matter how much it would benefit the Nuggets, there is only so far that the team will be able to push his workload while keeping him effective and avoiding injury risk.

I have him projected for 15.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists this evening – 26.7 points + rebounds + assists.

Chet Holmgren UNDER 9.5 Rebounds (-125, bet365)

Holmgren has played 8 games without Isaiah Hartenstein this season – he’s played more than 31 minutes in only 1 of those contests but has played 25 minutes or fewer 3 times. According to our RotoGrinders CourtIQ tool, Holmgren is averaging only 9.1 rebounds per 30 minutes this year with Hartenstein off of the floor.

Tonight, Holmgren has a semi-difficult matchup on the glass against a Portland team that ranks 8th in rebound% since Jerami Grant last played on December 18. If Oklahoma City handles business at home as a big favorite, it’s possible we see Holmgren closer to 25 minutes than 30 minutes this evening.

The math is on the side of the under.
