NBA Player Props Today – Wednesday, January 3, 2024

Dejounte Murray Over/Under 2.5 3-Pointers Made

Entering play on Wednesday, Dejounte Murray has some of the most stark home-and-away splits of any player in the NBA when it comes to shooting efficiency. In 13 home games, Murray is shooting 49.1% from the floor and 46.2% from beyond the arc, compared to 43.9% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc in 19 road games.

Tonight, Murray gets a favorable matchup at home against the Thunder, who have allowed the 2nd-most 3-point attempts overall in the last 30 days. Moreover, Oklahoma City ranks 30th in opponent 3-point percentage on above-the-break attempts in that span, which is where Murray attempts the vast majority of his long-range shots. This is a worthwhile risk this evening.

Jalen Green Over/Under 19.5 Points

According to CourtIQ, Jalen Green sees the largest increase in usage (+6.8%) for the Rockets when Dillon Brooks is off of the floor. In such situations this season, Green is averaging 26.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per 36 minutes of action.

In 3 games without Brooks in uniform this season, Green has scored 23 points against the Suns, 31 points against the 76ers, and 22 points against the Pistons. In each of those games, he has made at least 5 shots from beyond the arc and attempted at least 9 shots from long range.

On Wednesday, Green gets a favorable matchup against a Nets defense that ranks 22nd in opponent field goal attempts on above-the-break 3-pointers and 25th in opponent field goal percentage on such attempts across the last 30 days. Green should have more than enough volume in this spot to get the job done.

Alperen Sengun Over/Under 4.5 Assists

In 31 games this season, Alperen Sengun is averaging 5.3 assists on 8 potential assists per game. In those 31 games, he has 20 games with at least 5 assists. In 3 games without Dillon Brooks in uniform this season, Sengun is averaging 6 assists on 8.3 potential assists per game, and he has at least 8 assists in 2 of those games. Brooklyn has allowed opposing centers to flourish as facilitators during the last month, allowing 9 assists to Domantas Sabonis, 10 assists to Nikola Jokic, and another game of 7 assists for Jokic, just to name a few strong passing performances. The juice is likely to be worth the squeeze here.
