NBA Player Props Today – Wednesday, October 23, 2024

James Harden OVER 22.5 Points (-110, DraftKings)

According to RotoGrinders CourtIQ, Harden averaged 26.3 points per 36 minutes last season (0.73 points per minute) with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George off the floor. This preseason, Harden averaged 0.68 points per minute played and paced the Clippers’ starters in shot attempts in 3 of the 4 games he played. Harden has been much maligned by the media in recent seasons, but he’s still been plenty effective when he’s been healthy and on the floor. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Harden average 25 points per game this season as the team’s No. 1 offensive option.

Zach Edey OVER 19.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-150, DraftKings)

Zach Edey, the 9th-overall selection in this past summer’s draft, played extremely well during the preseason. Despite never playing more than 22 minutes in a game, he posted 13 PRA, 15 PRA, 27 PRA, 33 PRA, and 14 PRA. On opening night, it’s possible that Edey sees a little bit longer of a leash, with Jaren Jackson ruled out for the Grizzlies. Edey should get his fair share of looks on the offensive end of the floor, making this a very attainable number on Wednesday evening.

Jarrett Allen OVER 10.5 Rebounds (+106, FanDuel)

Jarrett Allen was one of the league’s best big men on the boards last season, averaging 10.5 rebounds per game for the Cavaliers. This season, there is potential for him to do even more damage on the glass, with new head coach Kenny Atkinson running the show. Atkinson has a new-age approach to the game, emphasizing tempo and the willingness to push opponents into uncomfortable situations. Allen had 16 rebounds in his final preseason contest, which could be a sign of things to come when the games count for real.
