NBA PrizePicks Predictions for November 11th: Alvarado, Williams, Barnes Make Top Plays

J. Williams of the Thunder

In this article, we’ll take a deep dive into some of the top picks for the upcoming NBA slate on PrizePicks. Most predictions are heavily based on projections, but you can find an extra edge if you happen to know ball too.

PrizePicks – one of the most popular pick’em DFS sites – provides player projections for NBA matchups each day. The ball is then in our court to decide whether a player will ultimately exceed or fall short of those projections in the games. With a huge roster of players available from which to choose, we just need to make a minimum of two picks to build an entry. And if you haven’t signed up yet, you can grab a special offer with our PrizePicks promo codeGRINDERS” to get $50 on a $5 entry!

We’ll break down the board by looking at factors like usage rates, projected pace, lines in the sports betting market, and of course, our RotoGrinders projections to forecast how players might fare in categories like points, rebounds, and assists. Nets vs. Pelicans PrizePicks Predictions

Jose Alvarado More/Less Than 30 Fantasy Points

The Pelicans are already dealing with an incredible number of injuries to key players, and the season isn’t even 3 weeks old yet. Zion Williamson, Herb Jones, Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum, and Jordan Hawkins will all miss tonight’s game against Brooklyn. Trey Murphy will return to make his season debut, so at least they have that.

With all of the other guards sidelined, Willie Green is having to rely heavily on Jose Alvarado to run the show. Grand Theft Alvarado has played at least 29 minutes in each of the Pels’ last 6 games since he was thrust into a starting role, and the minutes are even there in blowouts. New Orleans lost to Orlando by approximately 100 points last Friday, yet Alvarado still played 35 minutes.

Alvarado isn’t typically a high-usage player, but he’s generating usage (28.6%) right now with so many other offensive-minded players out of the lineup. He’s been terrific, contributing 1.1 FP/min. as well. This game features a tight 1.5-point spread, so Alvarado should see a full complement of minutes against a beatable Brooklyn defense.

Clippers vs. Thunder PrizePicks Predictions

Jalen Williams More/Less Than 37.5 Fantasy Points

Speaking of injuries, the Thunder endured a brutal one last night when Chet Holmgren went down with a fractured hip. The big man is expected to be sidelined for a couple of months, which means there will be more usage to go around. For the most part, that usage will trickle to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (37.9%) and Jalen Williams (29.6%).

J-Dub is averaging nearly 1.3 fantasy points per minute in the minutes he’s played without Chet this season, and he has a path to mid-30s minutes every night. OKC is on the 2nd half of a back-to-back here too. They’re only 6.5-point home favorites over the Clippers, so we should get another competitive game here.

Williams is going to play a huge offensive role for the Thunder going forward, and we have him projected for well north of 37.5 fantasy points.

Kings vs. Spurs Predictions

Harrison Barnes More/Less Than 10.5 Points

The Spurs are likely headed for another lost season, but they are getting healthier. Devin Vassell returned to make his season debut over the weekend, and the team will likely continue to ramp his minutes up moving forward. After he played 21 in his debut, we have Vassell projected to play 24 tonight when the Spurs play host to the Kings.

San Antonio added a couple of veterans in Harrison Barnes and Chris Paul this summer in an attempt to bolster the roster. Barnes has never been much of a stat-stuffer, and this season, he’s scoring just under 10 points per game in about 28 minutes a night.

Barnes has a couple of 38-minute games on his ledger this season, but his regular minutes floor is far lower. He logged just 18 a few games ago, and he’s topping out around 26-27 most nights. Vassell is a candidate to eat into those minutes moving forward, especially considering the Spurs’ youth movement. Because he’s not a high-usage player, I’ll gladly bank on Barnes having a quiet night in this one against his former team.
