NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions for Friday (1/31)

Thompson of the Pistons

I’m here to share a few of my (free!) top picks for today’s NBA slate on PrizePicks. Most of these predictions are heavily based on our projections.

Be mindful of the fact that the news cycle in the NBA is fluid, so the picks below may become more or less appealing depending on player availability. But rest assured that our NBA DFS projections team is making updates as soon as news breaks.

We have 7 games on the schedule as the NBA is set to tip off on 1/31. Below, I’ll detail how I’m approaching things on PrizePicks this Friday evening.

First… Sign Up to Make NBA PrizePicks Picks

If you want to play along but haven’t signed up yet, grab a special offer with our PrizePicks promo code “GRINDERS” to get $50 on a $5 entry! PrizePicks – one of the most popular DFS pick’em sites – provides player projections for NBA matchups each day. The ball is then in our court to decide whether a player will ultimately exceed or fall short of those projections in the games. With a huge roster of players available from which to choose, we just need to make a minimum of two picks to build an entry.

I’ll break down the board by looking at factors like usage rates, projected pace, lines in the sports betting market, and of course, our RotoGrinders projections to forecast how NBA players might fare in categories like points, rebounds, and assists. Mavericks vs. Pistons NBA PrizePicks Predictions

Here are the Mavericks vs. Pistons NBA PrizePicks predictions for tonight:

Ausar Thompson Less Than 17.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Thompson scoring less than 17.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists is a strong pick for several reasons. We project him at 14.91 Points + Rebounds + Assists, which is significantly below the PrizePicks projection. Additionally, our simulations show this pick has a 7.11% edge and a 64.84% hit rate, indicating a high probability of success.

Thompson has struggled to consistently exceed this threshold, with his recent averages and hit rates supporting the projection. Facing a tough Dallas defense, which ranks above average against his position, further limits Thompson’s potential for a big performance.

Bulls vs. Raptors NBA PrizePicks Predictions

Here are the Bulls vs. Raptors NBA PrizePicks predictions for tonight:

Nikola Vucevic Less Than 14.5 Rebounds + Assists

Vucevic achieving less than 14.5 Rebounds + Assists tonight is also a strong pick. We project him at 14 Rebounds + Assists, which is slightly below the PrizePicks projection. Additionally, our simulations show this pick has a 6.64% edge and a 64.38% hit rate, indicating a favorable probability of success.

Despite Vucevic’s efficient season, there are some pundits out there who suggest he is a regression candidate. On top of that, his usage does not significantly increase even when the Bulls are shorthanded.

Clippers vs. Hornets NBA PrizePicks Predictions

Here are the Clippers vs. Hornets NBA PrizePicks predictions for tonight:

Vasilije Micic More Than 7.5 Rebounds + Assists

Micic achieving more than 7.5 Rebounds + Assists tonight is another pick I like. We project him at 9.14 Rebounds + Assists, which is comfortably above the PrizePicks projection. Additionally, our simulations show this pick has a 4.91% edge and a 62.64% hit rate, indicating a strong probability of success.

Micic has been seeing increased minutes recently, especially with LaMelo Ball sidelined, and his role as a playmaker has grown. In his last game, he recorded 7 rebounds and 6 assists, showcasing his ability to contribute across multiple categories. This combination of projection and recent performance makes the pick appealing.
