NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions for Monday (1/27)

Williamson of the Pelicans

I’m here to share a few of my (free!) top picks for today’s NBA slate on PrizePicks. Most of these predictions are heavily based on our projections.

Be mindful of the fact that the news cycle in the NBA is fluid, so the picks below may become more or less appealing depending on player availability. But rest assured that our NBA DFS projections team is making updates as soon as news breaks.

We have 12 games on the schedule as the NBA is set to tip off on 1/27. Below, I’ll detail how I’m approaching things on PrizePicks this Monday evening.

If you want to play along but haven’t signed up yet, grab a special offer with our PrizePicks promo code “GRINDERS” to get $50 on a $5 entry! PrizePicks – one of the most popular DFS pick’em sites – provides player projections for NBA matchups each day. The ball is then in our court to decide whether a player will ultimately exceed or fall short of those projections in the games. With a huge roster of players available from which to choose, we just need to make a minimum of two picks to build an entry.

I’ll break down the board by looking at factors like usage rates, projected pace, lines in the sports betting market, and of course, our RotoGrinders projections to forecast how NBA players might fare in categories like points, rebounds, and assists. Pelicans vs. Raptors NBA PrizePicks Predictions

Here are the Pelicans vs. Raptors NBA PrizePicks predictions for tonight:

Zion Williamson Less Than 12.5 Rebounds + Assists

Williamson achieving less than 12.5 rebounds and assists is a strong pick. RotoGrinders projects him at 11.16 rebounds and assists, with simulations showing a 5.99% edge and a 63.72% hit rate. Zion’s recent averages of 6 rebounds and 4.5 assists (10.5 total) align with this projection. Additionally, with Brandon Ingram still out, Zion may prioritize scoring over rebounding or playmaking, further supporting this outcome.

Rockets vs. Celtics NBA PrizePicks Predictions

Here are the Rockets vs. Celtics NBA PrizePicks predictions for tonight:

Amen Thompson Less Than 29.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Thompson achieving less than 29.5 points + rebounds + assists is also a solid pick. RotoGrinders projects him at 26.78 PRA, with simulations showing a 5.8% edge and a 63.54% hit rate.

Despite a recent triple-double, Thompson’s production often varies due to the Rockets’ balanced offensive contributions from players like Alperen Sengun and Jalen Green. This variability, combined with where our projections have him, supports the likelihood of him staying below this mark. It’s a smart and calculated choice based on both data and situational context.
