NBA Underdog Fantasy Player Predictions for Wednesday (1/29)

Bridges of the Hornets

I’m here to give you a (free!) peek behind the curtain regarding some of the awesome things our NBA DFS projections team is cooking up by giving you my top picks for today’s NBA slate on Underdog Fantasy.

Every single pick you will find below is going to be based on what our projections say is a meaningful edge.

Please keep in mind that the NBA news cycle can get crazy, so what is listed below may become a better/worse play depending on how that news breaks. You can always stay up to date on exactly what a team’s rotation and depth chart will look like on a given day by heading to our NBA starting lineups page.

We have 11 games on the schedule as the NBA is set to tip off on 1/29. Below, I’ll detail how I’m approaching things on Underdog this Wednesday evening.

Underdog Fantasy – one of the most popular DFS pick’em sites – provides player projections for NBA matchups each day. The ball is then in our court to decide whether a player will ultimately exceed or fall short of those projections in the games. With a huge roster of players available from which to choose, we just need to make a minimum of two picks to build an entry.

I’ll break down the board by looking at factors like usage rates, projected pace, lines in the sports betting market, and of course, our RotoGrinders projections to forecast how NBA players might fare in categories like points, rebounds, and assists. Underdog Fantasy Top NBA Picks for 1/29

Now that you’re signed up, here are some of our top NBA picks on Underdog for 1/29 at a glance:

Nets vs. Hornets NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Nets vs. Hornets NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Miles Bridges Higher Than 23.5 Points

Bridges scoring higher than 23.5 points is a strong pick. We project him at 25.65 points, which is a few points above this Underdog projection. Our simulations also show this pick has a 3.64% edge and a 61.44% hit rate, which is a strong statistical backing.

With key teammates like LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Mark Williams sidelined, Bridges is expected to take on a larger offensive role, as seen in his 26-point performance against the Lakers on Monday. Additionally, the Brooklyn Nets’ defense has struggled, ranking 29th in defensive efficiency, which further supports Bridges’ potential for a big night.

Cavaliers vs. Heat NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Cavaliers vs. Heat NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Nikola Jovic Lower Than 5.5 Rebounds

Taking Jovic to grab lower than 5.5 rebounds is a great pick for several reasons. For one, we project him at 4.69 rebounds, which is almost a full rebound lower than this Underdog projection. Our simulations also show this pick has a 3.63% edge and a 66.46% hit rate, making it statistically favorable.

Jovic has averaged just 4 rebounds per game this season and only 3.5 rebounds in home games. Additionally, Cleveland’s defense ranks as one of the toughest in the league, limiting opportunities for opposing forwards. With Miami’s slower pace of play and Jovic’s inconsistent rebounding, this pick aligns well with both projections and trends.

Clippers vs. Spurs NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Clippers vs. Spurs NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Ivica Zubac Higher Than 15.5 Points + Assists

Zubac getting more than 15.5 points + assists is one I am looking to add to my card. We project him at 17.37 points + assists, which is comfortably above this number. Our simulations also show this pick has a 3.33% edge and a 61.14% hit rate.

Zubac has been a consistent contributor for the Clippers, and with Kawhi Leonard ramping up and James Harden facilitating, Zubac should see plenty of opportunities to score. Additionally, the Spurs’ defense has struggled recently, allowing a lot of points, which further supports Zubac’s potential for a productive night.
