What is your favorite game-script build and why?
STLCardinals84: The Cowboys should play with a reasonable lead at home in this one, so I don’t mind getting some exposure to the Dallas rushing attack. I’ll do that with Tony Pollard, who simply looks much more explosive than Ezekiel Elliott these days. In those builds, you can run it back with exposure to the IND passing attack.
squirrelpatrol: Two teams that rank in the top 5 of the NFL for fewest passing yards allowed, and two teams with star power at the RB position. We should see a lot of rushing yards in this one, but Dallas is the superior team playing at home, so I expect them to get the job done here.
gneiffer07: My Favorite game script is that the Cowboys completely blow out the Colts, with likely the only players for the Colts making value being one or two pass catchers.
TJ Zwarych: The Cowboys get ahead in this one, and I’ll be sure to play variations of Prescott MVP/CPT lineups with Dallas stacks, as well as mixing and matching Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott.
Which players will you restrict from appearing together often due to possible negative correlation?
STLCardinals84: Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard – Even though I expect Dallas to run the ball quite a bit in this game, I still don’t see a path for both RBs to be optimal together.
squirrelpatrol: I won’t play any Matt Ryan in the CPT/MVP spot unless I’m pairing him with at least 2 WR/TEs from his team.
gneiffer07: The only real negative correlation that I will likely stay away from is Jonathan Taylor with the Colts passing game
TJ Zwarych: Matt Ryan and Jonathan Taylor – Their prices make them difficult to stack together, so I’ll play for scripts that either see Taylor have a dominant game as the sole Colts player in my lineup or a few Matt Ryan stacks.
What is your favorite way to differentiate from the field?
STLCardinals84: Roll some TE exposure. I always like Dalton Schultz as a value option, and I think you can mix and match exposure to the Colts TEs as well. Jelani Woods had nine targets last week and makes for an interesting risk/reward selection. Using two TEs in the same lineup is a very interesting contrarian strategy.
squirrelpatrol: I’ll load up on all of the RBs in this game and hope that other people shy away from playing Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard together or with Jonathan Taylor.
gneiffer07: Rolling with both Pollard and Zeke in the same lineup hoping they account for the majority of the Cowboys offense.
TJ Zwarych: In builds where I see this game staying close, I’ll use Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Tony Pollard in the MVP/CPT spots, with no worry about stacking Pollard and Prescott together. However, my favorite way to differentiate will be plays like Ezekiel Elliott in the CPT/MVP in a Dallas blowout build.
What is an example of one rule you can program into LineupHQ to capitalize on the above strategies?
STLCardinals84: Player Groups -> New Group -> Add Pollard and Elliott —> MAX of 1 in any lineup.
squirrelpatrol: Player Groups > New Group > Matt Ryan MVP/CPT as Use Conditional Player > 2-4 Indy Pass Catchers as Players In this Group
gneiffer07: Player Groups -> New Group -> Add Pollard and Elliott —> 1-2 in any lineup
TJ Zwarych: Player Groups —> New Group —>1-2 Players in Every Lineup —> Dak Prescott CPT/MVP, Dak Prescott, Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott CPT/MVP
What is your hottest take for this game?
STLCardinals84: Jelani Woods and Dalton Schultz are both on the winning GPP lineup.
squirrelpatrol: All 3 of the big-name RBs in this game go for 100 yards and a TD.
gneiffer07: The Cowboys RBs account for 4 total touchdowns.
TJ Zwarych: Ezekiel Elliott rushes for 3 TDs.
Predict the final score of the game.
STLCardinals84: DAL 28 – IND 17
squirrelpatrol: DAL 24 – IND 10
gneiffer07: DAL 28 – IND 10
TJ Zwarych: DAL 31 – IND 17
