NFL DFS DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey (Afternoon Slate): Week 3 Picks
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
headChopper: Christian McCaffrey
Stevietpfl: Ashton Jeanty
TJ Zwarych: Derrick Henry
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents in the tournaments you will be playing? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: With only 4 games, and one of them being San Francisco against Arizona (which could be another blowout for San Francisco similar to last week), there is one game that stands out head and shoulders above everything else: Baltimore versus Dallas in Brazil. That’s the game I’ll be loading up on for several reasons. Dallas is having a very difficult time plugging gaps along the defensive line, and this could be a huge game for Derrick Henry. At the same time, their secondary is improving, but they’re very injured this week and have had a difficult time containing boundary wide receivers. So Lamar Jackson paired with either Zay Flowers (if he is healthy) or Rashod Bateman is going to be a great combination. If Baltimore is putting up points, then Dallas will have to step on the accelerator in the passing game as well, and it feels like a George Pickens week. Not because of the matchup, but more because when you have two great wide receivers and one has been quiet for a couple of weeks, it usually feels like an eruption spot is coming. So I’m loading up on that game and those particular players and filling in around them.
Stevietpfl: This week, we have a smaller 4-game slate. I think 3 of the 4 games are playable, but I worry about the Cardinals keeping it close against the 49ers. I worry about being underweight on Christian McCaffrey, but he only has a 55% snap rate and 20 rushing attempts through the first 2 games. If I’m playing McCaffrey, it would be as part of an Arizona stack. I also like the lower-owned Kyler Murray + Justin Jefferson stack. I think people will be off Murray after disappointing everyone in Week 1. Like always, I’m going to correlate my lineups as much as possible and try to get 2-3 stacks per lineup.
TJ Zwarych: I’m planning to mostly ignore the ARI/SF and MIN/TB games, and I’ll load up on BAL/DAL and LV/NO. I’ll likely go with a Saints double-stack and use the salary saved to pay up for Derrick Henry. Christian McCaffrey will be my biggest fade, and I’ll instead target Ashton Jeanty as my RB2 alongside Henry. I won’t have more than one player total from ARI/SF and MIN/TB outside of my defense, which will almost definitely be either Minnesota or Tampa Bay.
