What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. My plan of attack this week is to be overweight on the TB/BUF game and to punt two of my three wide receiver spots.
stevietpfl: I prefer small-field single-entry contests this weekend. I find myself focusing on 4 or 5 of the 11 games and will build around those game stacks. With a more limited player pool, I’m going to build 5-10 lineups.
Krayton: I will be playing mostly single-entry and smaller-field tournaments, but I will also be playing 20-max contests as well. I love building around the Christian McCaffrey + Trey McBride pairing and then being overweight on the CHI/MIN game. Aaron Jones, Rome Odunze, Caleb Williams, and even the Chicago RBs are all players I am interested in building around.
ebeimfohr: I will be focusing on smaller-field tournaments, making some minor pivots to some leverage opportunities that I mentioned above. Using those pivots, we can “play whoever we want” around them, including the highest-projected options or the top plays from our NFL DFS sims tool (SimLabs).
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – This is a slate that I expect to have running backs in the FLEX the vast majority of the time. The chalk RBs are strong plays, but there are several strong options who have single-digit pOWN% too. There are also several games that I think have big potential – TB/BUF, CHI/MIN, CIN/PIT, SEA/LAR, SF/ARI come to mind – so I’ll likely be heavy on game stacks.
Davis Mattek: I will be focusing on single-entry tournaments, as the angles seem quite clear. Most of the field will likely be focusing on players from the CIN/PIT game, using Trey McBride at TE, and taking one cheap value RB (e.g. Aaron Jones, RJ Harvey). It is fairly easy to make a small pivot on that structure and still build an optimal, high-projected lineup.
Jordan Vanek: I’ll be playing 3-max tournaments and tightening my pool around Jordan Love and Caleb Williams stacks. The Matt LaFleur firing chatter is nonsense to me, and I think Love will silence this by putting up a big score in this matchup. Then you have the Bears game in a dome against one of the most aggressive defenses in football – a spot where I trust Ben Johnson to have the right answers for Williams. Both quarterbacks give you ceiling paths that the field may be undervaluing, and they’ll be the foundation of my builds.
If you’re playing multiple lineups, what percentage of them would include players from the CIN/PIT game?

About the Author
Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
