NFL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Week 16 (Saturday Slate)
What is your favorite correlation on the slate and why?
Notorious: Mason Rudolph + Diontae Johnson and/or Pat Freiermuth – This stack is more about savings than anything else. If you play the Pittsburgh passing game, you can really do whatever else you want with your lineup. I’m not sure how much faith I have in Rudolph, but the Steelers beat reporters have been high on him for years. He draws his first start of the season at home against the Bengals, who are 26th in dropback EPA and 26th in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. I prefer Johnson and Freiermuth over George Pickens, as he usually needs a deep ball in order to have a good game.
squirrelpatrol: Josh Allen + Stefon Diggs + Austin Ekeler – With nine roster spots to work with, I’ll pick the players most likely to have a big game together first and look to get different in my lineups elsewhere. The Bills have by far the highest implied team total and the most trustworthy offense on the slate, and if my choices are Allen or a bunch of back-up QBs, I’ll take Allen. With Keenan Allen and Ja’Marr Chase out, Diggs separates himself from the other WRs by a wide margin, and without the competition for salary, it’s much easier to fit Diggs into our lineups. Ekeler hasn’t looked great this season, but he can still pile up receptions with Keenan Allen out.
Krayton: Jake Browning + Tee Higgins – With Ja’Marr Chase projected to be out, I love this spot for Higgins, who scored a TD and put up 22 DK points last week against the Vikings. Without Chase, Higgins will be a huge focal part of this offense, and after seeing 8 targets last game, we could easily see him get double-digit targets against Pittsburgh. The Steelers gave up big games recently to both Gardner Minshew (215 yards and 3 TDs) and Bailey Zappe (240 yards and 3 TDs), so Browning should be primed for a big game.
ebeimfohr: Ty Johnson + Bills D/ST – On a 2-game slate that’s quite brutal to find strong plays, we are going a bit deeper in our bag here. The Bills are surging down the stretch of the season, and Johnson has stepped into a solid role as the main RB2 ahead of Latavius Murray. We all know James Cook has exploded these last couple weeks, but if the Bills dominate this game as we all expect, that’s going to leave more meat on the bone for another Bills RB. So pairing up the Bills D/ST with Johnson (with or without Cook) can give us the leverage we need while still playing into the most likely scenario in this game….a big Buffalo win.
Stevietpfl: Jake Browning + Tee Higgins + James Cook – This is a different correlation, but if I’m not playing Josh Allen, then I want to be overweight on Cook. Allen has the highest ceiling on the slate, but if he fails, I’m hoping Cook is the reason why. If I’m not playing Allen, I’m going to be overweight on Browning. Browning has scored at least 22 fantasy points in 3 straight games, and he’s thrown for at least 275 yards and 1 touchdown in each of those games. Ja’Marr Chase is expected to miss the game this weekend, so I think this is a great spot for Higgins. He has the ceiling to break the slate and will be my highest-owned wide receiver.
Bobby Gomes: Josh Allen + Stefon Diggs – It has been quiet on the Diggs front the last 6 weeks or so, but the time is now for arguably the best QB-WR in the league. They’ll get a vulnerable Chargers secondary, and they are both priced up. This will scare people away based on how the last handful of games have gone for the duo.
