What is your favorite correlation on the slate and why?

Notorious: Joe Flacco + David Njoku – While I’m tempted to take a chance on Patrick Mahomes or Tua Tagovailoa at low projected ownership, it’s hard to click on them in a game with wind and frigid temperatures. Why take the risk when we can play Flacco in a dome? He has made 5 starts this season. In those outings, he has topped 22 fantasy points 4 times, he has attempted 40+ passes 4 times, and he has thrown for multiple touchdowns in every game. The Browns’ offensive line has dealt with injuries, so the offense has decided to air it out instead of running the ball. This matchup sets up perfectly for that, as the Texans have been one of the biggest pass-funnels in the league (23rd in DVOA against the pass, 2nd in DVOA against the run). I’ll have some exposure to Amari Cooper and don’t mind playing the double-stack, but my preferred stacking partner for Flacco is Njoku. He has already broken two slates with Flacco under center, and the Texans have allowed the 4th-most fantasy points to tight ends.

squirrelpatrol: Tua Tagovailoa + Tyreek Hill – It’s going to be cold in Kansas City on Saturday, but the correlation between temperature and points isn’t as strong as most people think, and this game still has a total equal to the CLE/HOU game which will be played in a dome. The cold weather narrative should keep ownership on the Dolphins low, and I’ll gladly aim to be over the field on the team that lead the league in yards, was 2nd in points, and features the QB who passed for the most yards this season and the receiver with the most receiving yards on the season.

Krayton: Joe Flacco + Amari Cooper and/or David Njoku + Nico Collins – We recently saw this matchup back in Week. Flacco threw for 368 yards and 3 TDs on 42 passing attempts, and Cooper exploded for 54.5 DK points (265 yards and 2 TDs). Flacco is now a favorite on the road getting to play in a dome, and I love stacking up this game. It will be a popular one, but I would rather look for different one-off options in both games, as it’s going to be extremely cold in KC and playing in a dome is a big advantage for both Flacco and C.J. Stroud in the passing game. I like playing both Cooper and Njoku along with Collins on the other side, and I will look to get heavy exposure to this game.

ebeimfohr: Joe Flacco + Amari Cooper + David Njoku + Nico Collins – Very rare to get two pass-heavy teams with very condensed target trees matching up like this, but we will take the gift from the fantasy gods either way. I personally like the Browns to score a ton of points here while they continue to lean on their high-powered trio in the pass game. Without Tank Dell, Collins has been the focal point of the Texans’ passing offense and makes for the cleanest bring-back to a stack I can remember. With 40+ pass attempts for the Browns weekly and a heavy target share for Nico on the other side, I’ll be loading up this group in all formats.

Stevietpfl: Joe Flacco + Amari Cooper – In the 4 games Cooper has played with Flacco, he has a 23.6% target share. He has 25 catches for 485 yards and is averaging 11.55 yards per target. He’s also averaging 19.4 yards per catch with Flacco at quarterback. Flacco has turned this team around. He’s thrown for multiple touchdowns in each of his 5 games with the Browns this season, and he has at least 300 passing yards in 4 of those 5 games. As much as I like Patrick Mahomes, the weather is a factor, and Flacco gets to play in a dome.

eys819: Joe Flacco + Amari Cooper + David Njoku – In the 5 games Flacco has played this season, he has topped 300 passing yards in 4 of them and thrown for at least 2 touchdowns in all of them. One of those games was against the Houston defense he faces this week, when he torched them for 368 yards and 3 touchdowns in Week 16. Flacco’s targets have been condensed around Cooper (23.6% target share) and Njoku (21.7% target share). No other player has a target share above 15% with Flacco under center. The Texans have allowed the 8th-most passing yards in the league this season.

Bobby Gomes: Joe Flacco + Amari Cooper + David Njoku – The beauty of the Flacco off the couch and into the playoffs story is that he’s really only keying in on the Browns’ two alphas. Cooper and Njoku have combined for 81 targets over the last 4 games. Flacco torched the Texans secondary in Week 16, throwing for 368 yards and 3 touchdowns.
