Noto's NFL DFS Key Personnel: Week 7
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. So, who better to walk you through all of the key NFL DFS positions each week? Noto has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and he will mix it up in all different types of contests. In his Key Personnel article for Week 7, he will walk you through his favorite NFL DFS picks, ways to pivot away from the chalk, and overall strategy for the upcoming featured slate.
Happy Week 7!
I hope the first 6 weeks have treated everyone well. It’s been a roller coaster for me, as I’ve had 2 really good weeks, 2 break-even weeks, and 2 brutal weeks. I will certainly take the start that I’ve had to the season, but there’s always room for improvement.
We are already at the point in the season where injuries are dominating the talking points of DFS. There are a lot of key players out this week, which has opened up a lot of value. I expect most to gravitate toward the stars-and-scrubs builds, especially on DraftKings.
I’m going to keep the introduction short this week because the NBA/NFL overlap is a lot to handle. But as always, reach out to me if you have any questions about the slate.
NFL DFS Top Picks & Plays: Noto’s Key Personnel for Week 7
As always, if there are any changes to the Core Plays, Strong Plays, or Sprinkle Plays, they will be reflected in the table below. I will update the table (but not the article) up to lineup lock, so be sure to check back here on Sunday morning. I have made a few key changes to my picks this season, and I don’t want anyone to miss them.
Top Quarterback Plays
Tier 1 – Core Plays
The adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” applies here. I will stack against the Lions until it stops working. The Packers are expected to have Josh Jacobs back in the lineup this week, but I still expect their rushing attack to be below average. Jordan Love ($6,000 DK / $7,600 FD) is having the best fantasy season of his career, largely because the Packers haven’t been able to stop anyone. That has forced the Packers to air it out more, and Love has stepped up. He has one of the highest aDOTs (9.1) and XFPPGs (20.1) of any quarterback on the slate. He should have no issue carving up the Lions, who are 30th in EPA allowed per dropback and dead last in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks.
Bryce Young ($5,900 DK / $7,800 FD) doesn’t pop in most projection models this week, so he’s not going to garner much ownership. He played well in the second half of last season and has been even better this season. His CPOE is +5.6%, and he’s consistently taking shots downfield. Being accurate while throwing deep is a tremendous combination. The Panthers are 1st in situation-neutral pace and 3rd in explosive play rate. Young has averaged 22 fantasy points per game without showing much on the ground, which we know he’s capable of. The Panthers should have a pass-heavy game plan against the Buccaneers, who have one of the best run defenses in the NFL.
Tier 2 – Strong Plays
Matthew Stafford ($6,400 DK / $7,700 FD) is down a weapon in Davante Adams, but we saw him have huge fantasy outings without Puka Nacua in the lineup earlier this season. When you have an arm like Stafford and an offensive genius as your head coach, we don’t need to worry about the absence of one pass catcher. If anything, the Stafford-to-Nacua stack is even easier to click now. I love their matchup against the Raiders, who are 5th in situation-neutral pace, 28th in EPA allowed per dropback, and 26th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. I will note that Stafford becomes an easy fade if Nacua is eventually ruled out.
Brock Purdy ($6,600 DK / $8,500 FD) has been one of the best real-life and fantasy quarterbacks in football this season. He has averaged 22.7 fantasy points per game and has been great through the air and on the ground. With Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel both out, I expect many to shy away from Purdy this week. The way I see it, this already concentrated offense will be more concentrated. The Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle stack builds itself. The Falcons are somehow 3rd in EPA allowed per dropback this season, yet they have allowed the 13th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks.
Tier 3 – Sprinkle Plays
