What is your favorite game-script build and why?

Notorious: My favorite game script is that the Texans actually provide pushback against the Lions. We haven’t seen Detroit play in many close games, which is why Jared Goff has only attempted more than 30 passes one time this season. Many will see the lack of production for this passing attack and look to be underweight on Goff and company.

ncorfield8k: Two strong offenses meet two strong defenses. I think the offenses win out. Both passing games should have success with a lot of volume in this game. The running backs likely struggle, but Mixon is still tough to fade just due to his elite volume.

Davis Mattek: The old Houston Texans are not coming back. They are gritting and grinding as much as they can and running on every first down. With Nico Collins likely not playing in this one, I expect both teams will be negative PROE. That is going to lead to a fast-paced but low total number of plays. I imagine we likely go under the total and ask more questions about Stroud’s ability to produce without Collins. I would be surprised to see either QB throw for 300+ yards.

Bobby Gomes: The Lions are road favorites (-3.5) and have become the top-scoring offense in the league, and the Texans are coming off a week where Aaron Rodgers lit them up for 3 touchdown passes. That said, the Texans have had a top-10 pass defense this season and should play better. Most of my builds will feature Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jahmyr Gibbs, and one or two pass catchers from the Texans (Tank Dell, Nico Collins, Dalton Schultz). My builds will be mostly balanced in anticipation of a close shootout. I would be careless not to incorporate the slate-breaking upside of both running games in my 150+ lineups.

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
