What is your favorite game-script build and why?
Notorious: I expect this game to be competitive throughout. While the Bills have beat the Dolphins in 8 of their last 9 meetings, this game features a 2-point spread and a 49-point total. My answer is more of a roster construction build than a game-script build. Josh Allen only attempted 23 passes in Week 1 and targeted 10 different players. With Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis gone, this could be one of the most spread out passing attacks in the league. At the same time, Allen is more than capable of dominating a game on the ground (as we saw in Week 1). On the other side of the ball, the Dolphins might have the most concentrated passing attack in the league. Tua Tagovailoa might end up throwing 55%+ of his passes to Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle this season. I love the idea of using Allen at MVP/CPT, picking one wideout or James Cook to pair with him, and then filling out the rest of the roster out with Miami players.
headChopper: Lots of points. High-scoring game. The Bills offense looked lethargic in the 1st half last week but really picked it up in the 2nd half. I think that carries over, and Josh Allen should have little trouble moving the ball against this defense. The Bills defense was getting shredded by Kyler Murray in the 1st half and made adjustments. I think Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel will be better at keeping them off guard for longer, and the Dolphins have so many weapons that I can’t see them being stopped very often.
ncorfield8k: The Bills take an early big lead with their ground game, but the Dolphins make a big comeback with an air raid. I want to play this game through James Cook, a week after the Dolphins gave up 117 yards and a touchdown on the ground on 24 Jaguars carries. I also think there may be holes in the Bills secondary with Taron Johnson out. And a Dolphins onslaught with a Cook bring-back should be fairly low owned.
Davis Mattek: Unusual for a Thursday night game, I think we can get into a track meet here. The Bills defense is banged up and slow (though not bad), and the Dolphins defense got very lucky to not give up 28+ at home to the Jaguars last week. DeVon Achane and Tyreek Hill have haunted the Bills, and I saw a ton more out of Keon Coleman in Week 1 than I thought we would. I’m playing this like the Dolphins use Achane in a very smart and selective way and he is the highest-scoring player of the slate at relatively very low ownership.
