Noto's Key Personnel: Divisional Round
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. So, who better to walk you through all of the key NFL DFS positions each week? Noto has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and he will mix it up in all different types of contests. In his Key Personnel article, he will walk you through his favorite NFL DFS picks, ways to pivot away from the chalk, and overall strategy for the upcoming slate.
And we are back! I played as many slates as the sites threw out on Wild Card Weekend and returned a healthy profit. If anyone listened to the Tournament Takes Podcast, we also threw out a 4-team teaser that hit and a Dawson Knox first touchdown (+2000) that hit. Overall, it was a solid weekend when it came to betting and DFS. I wish the games were a little more competitive though, as 5 of the 6 ended up being blowouts.
We now turn our attention to the Divisional Round where teams have the chance to punch their ticket to the AFC and NFC Championship games. After DraftKings released their contests and had the 4-game slate as their main slate, I was hopeful that FanDuel and Yahoo would follow suit. Unfortunately, we can’t have nice things in this DFS life. FanDuel and Yahoo are both rolling out big slates for the 2-gamer on Saturday and the 2-gamer on Sunday. I’m playing all of the slates regardless, but it’s just a lot easier from a content perspective to have the sites roll out the same main slates.
Rather than putting together three separate articles, I will do my best to cover the 4-game slate on DraftKings and each of the 2-game slates for the other sites. When it comes to the Expert Play tags, I have specified which slate those are for when it comes to FanDuel. I also plan to cover every possible angle of the player pool. No stones left unturned, as they say. As always, I appreciate you taking time out of your week to read this article. EXPERT PLAY TAG
Lamar Jackson: $8,700 FD (Saturday 2-Game)
Josh Allen: $8,000 DK / $9,400 FD (Sunday 2-Game)
Jared Goff: $7,600 FD (Sunday 2-Game)
I only have Jackson tagged on FanDuel, as I slightly prefer Allen on the 4-game slate on DraftKings. As for Jackson, he averaged over 50 rushing yards per game during the regular season and is all but a lock to win this year’s MVP award. He’s always been known for his rushing but has shown upside through the air this season, throwing for over 300 yards in 3 of his last 10 games. He draws a nice matchup against the Texans, who have been a pass-funnel matchup all season (2nd in DVOA against the run, 23rd in DVOA against the pass). You can play Jackson solo or pair him up with one of his wideouts. It looks like he should have his star tight end back for this game.
I have Allen tagged up for the 4-game slate on DraftKings and the 2-game Sunday slate on FanDuel. He’s my favorite quarterback target of the week and could come in at low ownership given his current projection I’m seeing around the industry. The way I see it, there’s a good chance Allen will be responsible for ALL of Buffalo’s touchdowns this weekend in a revenge game against the Chiefs. He’s capable of throwing for 300+ yards and has racked up 141 yards on the ground in his last 2 games. He’s also the preferred goal-line option, as the Bills have put the tush push in their playbook.
