Welcome back to the Key Personnel. I hope everyone’s Week 4 main slate went according to plan. If so, let’s keep it rolling into Monday night. If not, this 2-game slate provides a great bounce-back opportunity. My squads got off to a slow start, but they made a nice run late in the morning games and in the afternoon games.
We have all of the NFL DFS content that you need for tonight’s 2-game NFL slate – the Expert Survey, our RotoGrinders NFL Sunday Best (MNF version), and all of our experts will have their favorite plays tagged in our NFL DFS optimizer, LineupHQ.
NFL DFS Top Picks & Plays: Noto’s Key Personnel for Week 4 – Monday Night Football
We don’t exactly have the most high-powered offenses on this slate, so I don’t expect scores to be very high. Additionally, projected ownership looks extremely condensed, so we’ll try to uncover some gems and correlations that the rest of the field isn’t going to be on. With a lack of star power, it’s fairly easy to build lineups without a major salary cap restraint.
Top Quarterback Plays
Tier 1 – Core Plays
Given the low totals of both games, options are few and far between. Bo Nix ($6,000 DK / $7,500 FD) has been quiet in his first 3 games of the season, but he’s had back-to-back difficult matchups on the road against the Chargers and Colts. He draws his best matchup to date, as he gets to face the Bengals at home. Despite facing Joe Flacco, Trevor Lawrence, and Carson Wentz in the first 3 games, the Bengals have allowed the 12th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Nix and the Broncos are 7-point favorites and have the highest team total on the slate.
Justin Fields ($5,500 DK / $7,600 FD) is expected back after missing Week 3 with a concussion. He got off to a blazing start to his Jets tenure, scoring 30 fantasy points against the Steelers. At this point, we know that Fields is one of the more volatile quarterbacks on a week-to-week basis. He has a ton of rushing upside and will take several shots deep down the field. At his price point, he’s a great starting point for tournaments. The Dolphins have been shredded by opposing quarterbacks in each of the first 3 games of the season.
Tier 2 – Drizzle Plays
Tua Tagovailoa ($5,200 DK / $7,000 FD) is a tough buy in DFS at the moment. He offers zero rushing upside at this stage of his career, and the Dolphins’ offense has been sputtering as a whole this season. This isn’t the high-flying Dolphins offense that was putting up 30 points a game a few seasons ago. It essentially takes 300+ yards and 2+ touchdowns for him to score over 20 fantasy points, which is what we need from him at his current price point. That’s a tall ask against the Jets, whose biggest strength is their cornerback play.
Jake Browning ($5,700 DK / $6,800 FD) did not look good in his first full game since the Joe Burrow injury. He averaged 5.2 yards per attempt against the Vikings and had more turnovers (2) than touchdowns (1). We’ve seen big games from Browning in the past, but he draws the toughest matchup on the slate. The Broncos have one of the best defenses in the NFL, and they are extremely tough at home. The Bengals come into this game with an implied team total of 18 points, which is easily the lowest of the 4 teams in action.
