Playbook

Saturday’s NFL slate features 2 games, beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET with the Texans against the Chargers on NFL Network, followed by the Ravens against the Packers at 8:00 p.m. ET on Peacock.

All 4 teams playing on Saturday still have a chance to win their respective divisions, but they need a win in Week 17 to keep those hopes alive. Even with a pair of backup quarterbacks scheduled to start in the evening, fans shouldn’t be short on entertainment in what has shaped up to be quasi-playoff games.

Looking at the NFL odds for Saturday, the market is expecting both games to be competitive, with the Chargers favored by 2 points and the Packers favored by 3.5 points as of this writing.

Best NFL Player Props for Texans vs. Chargers and Ravens vs. Packers

Here are my top player prop bets, with kickoff scheduled for 4:30 PM ET on Saturday, December 27th:

Jayden Higgins UNDER 2.5 Receptions (+100, BetMGM)

Higgins appeared to be in the midst of a legitimate breakout in November, with 5+ targets in 5 consecutive games. However, he’s all but disappeared the last two weeks, with only 1 target against the Cardinals and only 3 targets against the Raiders.

Higgins’ snap share has remained stable, but his role has been primarily that of a deep threat, which limits his down-to-down utility. There could be some value on the under if looking for an afternoon play for the Texans against the Chargers.

Malik Willis OVER 170.5 Passing Yards (-114, FanDuel)

This is a rather insulting line for Willis, who has looked significantly better in Green Bay than he did during the early portion of his career in Tennessee. After entering for Jordan Love in Week 16, Willis posted a .483 EPA/play, which would have been the 5th-best mark by a Packers quarterback in 2025 in a full game.

Baltimore’s secondary unit has been underwhelming of late, ranking 14th in EPA/play and 11th in Success Rate since Week 13. The forecast looks cold, but there is no major rain or snow, so conditions shouldn’t be particularly prohibitive for passing on Saturday.

Willis has the potential to clear this number with ease.

Derrick Henry OVER 16.5 Rush Attempts (-102, FanDuel)

In 3 games with Lamar Jackson inactive this season, Baltimore has done everything they can to get Henry going on the ground. He had 15 rush attempts against Houston before the game got out of hand early in the 2nd half. Henry had 24 attempts against the Chargers and 21 attempts against the Bears in the other 2 games started by backup quarterbacks for Baltimore in 2025.

Assuming a relatively competitive time of possession battle on Saturday, Henry should end up with close to 20 carries once again, facing a Packers run defense that ranks 24th in Success Rate during their last 4 contests.
