Kick off the AFC & NFC Championships with the PrizePicks promo code GRINDERS to get a $100 deposit match. Continue reading for more PrizePicks NFL predictions for the San Francisco 49ers vs. Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens this weekend.
In this space, we’ll look at exciting offers on the PrizePicks board for the Championship Round of the NFL Playoffs and try to make some predictions based on projections, trends, and the market.
PrizePicks, a popular DFS app, lays out player projections for us to stack on a ticket for user-created entries. They prompt us with a statistical projection for a player, and we get to pick whether or not the player will get More or Less than the number offered. There are hundreds of players from whom to choose, and we only have to make at least two picks to create a contest.
If you haven’t tried it yet, use the PrizePicks promo code “GRINDERS” to get a $100 deposit match when any player in your entry records at least one yard this weekend.
For the upcoming games, we’ll turn to PrizePicks and see what usage, game flow, Vegas, and — of course — our projections can tell us about how players are likely to perform. We’ll look at passing, rushing, and receiving categories on the PrizePicks app, making a pick for this week’s NFL slate.
PrizePicks Top NFL Plays This Week
- Christian McCaffrey MORE Than 0.5 Rush Yards
- Brock Purdy MORE Than 299.5 Pass Yards (DEMON)
- Rashee Rice MORE Than 59.5 Receiving Yards
San Francisco 49ers vs. Detroit Lions Predictions
Christian McCaffrey MORE/LESS Than 0.5 Rush Yards
Cheap square promotion. We can’t put much money on it, but Christian McCaffrey to get a yard on the ground is a nice little boost for a ticket with some demon projections.
Isiah Pacheco has a 0.7 rush+rec TD projection here at RG — the best on the board — and his 0.5 PrizePicks projection has the demon booster.
For higher dollar amounts, McCaffrey’s rush yards projection is a little high, according to our stuff. PrizePicks has him for 89.5 rush yards, while we have him for 76. The edge is to play against his receiving yards projection, where PrizePicks has him at 37.5 yards compared to the 45.9 projection at RG. The Lions are a bad pass defense, so there will be enough to go around.
- PLAY: McCaffrey MORE Than 0.5 Rush Yards
Brock Purdy MORE/LESS Than 299.5 Pass Yards (DEMON)
The standard PrizePicks projection for Brock Purdy pass yards is soft as hell. 276.5 should get eclipsed, according to our 293.6 projection. It might be the safest play on the entire ticket after the McCaffrey discount.
But don’t sleep on Purdy’s 299.5 demon projection. It’s in line with our projection, and we get a nice payout boost if we win.
The Lions gave up the 6th-most passing yards this season, and that doesn’t include the 377 that Baker Mayfield dropped on them. Purdy isn’t “just a game manager”; he’s out there to sling the rock when called upon. Purdy had 267.5 pass yards per game this season and led the league with 9.6 yards per attempt, along with his 113.0 rating and 72.8 QBR. This is an excellent spot for a ceiling game, and his ceiling is definitely over 300 yards.
- PLAY: Purdy MORE Than 299.5 Pass Yards (DEMON)
Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens Predictions
Rashee Rice MORE/LESS Than 59.5 Receiving Yards
To close out the regular season, Rashee Rice saw 9.3 targets for 86.3 yards per game over the last 6 games he played. He only had 4 targets in the Divisional Round against Buffalo, but I kinda don’t care.
The Ravens are a good pass defense, but I don’t care about that either. The Chiefs are 3.5-point ‘dogs on the road. They’ll need to throw a good amount, and Rice will get a lot of targets. As many as Travis Kelce? Maybe not in a spot of desperation but still enough to get to 60 yards. His aDOT was only 4.8 this season, but his 8.3 average YAC displays how the Chiefs get him into space for a lot of shots to succeed.
The Chiefs can’t be trusted to win this game, but Patrick Mahomes should be trusted to put up numbers, and Rice should benefit from that.
We have Rice projected for a whopping 71.7 receiving yards.
- PLAY: Rice MORE Than 59.5 Receiving Yards
