The NFL Season is here! Week 1 begins with the Chiefs vs. Lions facing off in what is expected to be a shootout. However, the potential lack of Travis Kelce who hyperextended his knee in practice this week opens up some Fantasy Pick’em opportunity on “daily fantasy sites” like PrizePicks.

Each week, I’ll deliver my top NFL PrizePicks predictions for Thursday, Sunday and Monday Night Football. Use the PrizePicks referral code GRINDERS to receive a $100 deposit match to prep you for the NFL season.

PrizePicks Plays: Chiefs vs. Lions

Amon-Ra St. Brown: More/Less Than 6.5 Receptions

Amon-Ra St. Brown should be the top target in this Lions offense all season and has shown immense talent and chemistry with Goff early in his career. He’s a late 1st Round pick in fantasy leagues this year and poised for the biggest season yet of his career. He had at least 7 receptions in 10 of his games last season and they should need his production against the Chiefs.

Kansas City is -4.5 favorites in this one, and although they’ll likely be without Travis Kelce, there’s still a very good chance the Lions will be playing catchup in this one. If they are, Goff and the Lions will be airing it out a ton, and St. Brown should rack up receptions pretty easily in this one. Even if the Lions come out ahead early and don’t have to pass a ton, St. Brown likely will have been heavily involved to get them to that point. 6.5 receptions for Brown just feels far too low for this spot, and I think that line is going to progressively go up for him in games as the season goes on. Let’s take advantage of it before the site realizes how good Amon-Ra St. Brown is at football.

Play: More Than 6.5 Receptions

Moore + Brown More/Less Than 121.5 Receiving Yards

Likely without Kelce and with Kadarius Toney is still potentially limited after his training camp injury (stop me if you’ve heard that before) Moore should be primed for an increase in targets from Mahomes. Even without his top option, I can’t imagine Andy Reid going full run game mode, and Mahomes should still be slinging the ball around a ton, with Skyy Moore likely being the top option.

The beauty of this pick is even though Moore is in a fantastic spot, I don’t think it’s crazy that Amon-Ra St. Brown eclipses this mark on his own. St. Brown is my favorite fantasy option in pretty much any format from this game and DFS pick’em is no different. His individual line of 74.5 yards is far too low as well if you’d rather take that option, however, Moore should get plenty of opportunity across St. Brown for this combo to hit with ease.

Play: More Than 121.5 Receiving Yards (Combo)

Montgomery + Jones More/Less Than 0.5 Touchdowns

David Montgomery is almost certain to be the short-yardage and goal-line back for the Lions this year. Early reports from camp indicate he’s going to be even more involved with that, likely as their primary running back with Jahmyr Gibbs being more heavily involved in the passing game. Montgomery should be the one getting their red zone carries and has a strong chance to punch in a touchdown on his own.

Thankfully, even if Montgomery were to struggle or the Lions fall behind and aren’t running the ball, we have a backup plan in the combo pick with Marvin Jones Jr. Jones should likely be the 2nd option in the receiving corps for Jared Goff this season and he’s always been a menace in the red zone throughout his career. Should this game stay close or the Lions get ahead, Montgomery should get plenty of opportunities for a touchdown. If not, the game script should set up perfectly for Marvin Jones Jr.

Play: Montgomery + Jones Jr. More Than 0.5 Touchdowns (Combo)
