In this space, we’ll look at the PrizePicks board for the Patriots vs. Jets and try to make some predictions based on projections, trends, and the market.

PrizePicks, one of the best DFS sites for NFL fantasy pick’em, lays out player projections for us, which we stack to create entries that pay real money. They prompt us with a statistical projection for a player, and we get to pick whether or not the player will get More or Less than the number offered. There are hundreds of players from whom to choose, and we only have to make at least two picks to create an entry. Breece Hall MORE/LESS 79.5 Rush Yards (DEMON)

There’s no question that Hall is gonna be a fantasy superstar this season. He plays a ton of snaps, get a lot of targets in a bend-don’t-break offense, and gets a lot of usage in the red zone. But there is a legitimate question as to when we should expect to see his rushing yards spike. As a 6.5-point home favorite, we should expect a ceiling game from Hall on the ground to kill the clock. Braelon Allen should get some run in what should be a decisive Jets victory, but Hall should be expected to close it out and find a ceiling in the range of 18-22 carries. Averaging 4.7 yards per carry over his career, this is exactly the type of situation where we should see him hit 80+ rushing yards.

Rhamondre Stevenson MORE/LESS 67.5 Rush Yards

As a 6.5-point road ‘dog, we should hate the prospects for Stevenson to get the volume to hit 68+ rushing yards. The Jets were run on by Jordan Mason in Week 1, but Tony Pollard only had 62 rushing yards through 17 carries in Week 2. We like Stevenson more than Pollard, in general, but we should expect a low volume for the Patriots offense as a whole on a short week against a strong defense. This play isn’t a knock on Stevenson, so much as it’s a standard interpretation of the Patriots’ bleak situation.

Greg Zuerlein MORE/LESS 1.5 FG Made

I love me some kickers on short weeks, as these games tend to favor defenses and run games, and therefore, kicking games. The Jets should be able to get into field goal range with ease, and they love to kick field goals. Zuerlein was 3rd in the NFL last season in field goal attempts (38) and 2nd in field goals made (35). He’s only attempted 1 field goal over the first 2 games, but expect that volume to go up for Thursday Night Football, where kickers are kings.
