NFL Week 17 Weather Report: Betting and Fantasy Football Impact

Bengals QB Burrow

Week 17 in the NFL brings fewer games with freezing temperatures and more games with chances for rain.

This NFL weather article will highlight any extreme temperatures, precipitation, and, most importantly, high winds that we could see across the NFL landscape this week. If a game isn’t specifically listed in this week’s report, that means the weather is quiet enough for it not to be an issue in that particular game.

NFL Week 17 Weather Report & Forecast

As always, it’s best to stay up to date with the very latest forecasts, so follow me on Twitter @KevinRothWx and keep an eye on my NFL weather report.

A reminder that while temperature and rain/snow can impact a game, the greatest impact by far comes from high wind, so I’ll be looking to highlight those spots when possible.

Thursday Night Football

Seattle Seahawks at Chicago Bears – Mild temps, winds 5-10 mph, some spotty light showers are likely at some point.

Saturday, December 28th

Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals – Rain is likely, though the extent of that rain (heavy and persistent or light and spotty) is still in question, as models have been tending a bit lighter lately.

Sunday Main Slate, December 29th

Indianapolis Colts at New York Giants – A chance for some showers.

Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars – A chance for some showers or isolated storms.

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills – Rain likely. Mild temps and winds around 10 mph.

Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Bucs – A chance for some showers or isolated storms.

Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles – A chance for some showers.

Miami Dolphins at Cleveland Browns – Rain is likely and 10 mph winds.

Sunday Night Football

Atlanta Falcons at Washington Commanders – Rain looks likely here, especially late.

Monday Night Football, December 30th

Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers – Mild temps, light winds, no precipitation.

Weather Impact on Fantasy & Betting

There are a whole bunch of games with chances for rain, and no games look like a wind or extreme temp threat. For now (and this likely will change), my greatest concerns are in Cincy, Buffalo, Washington, and Cleveland. All of those games have the potential for not just a spotty shower or two but heavy rain that could significantly impact play.

In case things change, I’ll be posting radar GIFs to Twitter as we get closer to kickoff: @KevinRothWx on Twitter.
