Now, let’s break down the odds and look at NFL Week 3 betting picks for Falcons at Colts.

NFL Betting Picks Week 3 – Falcons at Colts -1, O/U 47

Both these teams enter Week 3 in similar situations. Each had matchups in the first 2 weeks against likely playoff teams, they both currently sit at 1-1, and both teams have been much better at home than on the road. The Falcons bounced back with a win against the Eagles on SNF, reminding the league just how good they can be when Matt Ryan and Julio Jones start clicking. The Colts on the other hand were expected to be a fantastic team prior to the unexpected retirement of Andrew Luck. The Colts still have hope as Brisset is a serviceable QB while the pieces surrounding him in the Colts locker room are well above average.

I continue to expect the Colts to make the playoffs this year. They have enough talent to potentially beat everyone in the AFC outside of the Patriots and Chiefs. They are stout on the defensive end and have a whole bunch of weapons on the offensive side of the ball, including a solid offensive line. While both these teams play in a dome, and accordingly, both teams have better splits on turf, it’s the Colts who really excel at home. T.Y Hilton’s home/road splits have been massive throughout his career. This week, he’s afforded the luxury of paying in Indianapolis and he should tear apart this Falcons defense on his home turf.

The Falcons obviously don’t mind playing in a dome either, but as we saw in week 1 against the Vikings, the Falcons’ offense tends to struggle a bit on the road whether they’re inside or not. Matt Ryan & Co. are matched up against a Colts defense that has the ability to shut down opposing WRs, making teams rely on their RBs and TEs in the passing game, which hasn’t been as strong for the Falcons this year as it has in the past. They’ll need Devonta Freeman and Hooper to step up in this one in order to get to 2-1.

My NFL Week 3 Betting Pick: As of now, it looks like the large majority of bets are backing the Falcons after being in the spotlight of Sunday Night Football while taking down the Eagles. The line movement has been in Indianapolis’ direction showing some clear reverse line movement. To me, the Colts are the better team and the line should be closer to a field gaol, I think this spot offers some clear value. The Colts home field advantage is at a premium here as the Falcons have struggled on the road essentially since Matt Ryan took over as QB. I’m ignoring the hype from the Falcons Week 2 win. Atlanta could have easily lost and started out the season 0-2. They might have more problems than we know. I love the Colts to cover in Week 3.
