NFL Week 8 Betting Picks – Broncos at Colts -5.5, O/U 43

The Colts have been a very interesting team to watch so far this year. While the expectations for the Colts were sky high coming into the season, they changed drastically with the news of Andrew Luck’s retirement. All that being said, the Colts have been great this season, especially considering they’ve had one of the hardest schedules in the league to this point. While they lost a close game to the Chargers in OT to start the season, they have gone 4-1 since then and have beaten several playoff teams (their lone loss came against the Raiders). The interesting part about the Colts is they haven’t had a single victory or loss this over 7 points. While this stat alone may signify that the Colts may be a bad bet, I’m not sure that’s the case. The Colts have been great on the defensive end. While they are near the league average in points allowed, they have faced four of the top offenses in the NFL in the Chiefs, Falcons, Texans, and Chargers. While the Colts have been very good so far this season, they seem to be underrated by the public.

Let me just start off by saying I was at the Bronco’s last game and I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen an offense look as bad as they did against Kansas City. They couldn’t get a thing done in the passing or the rushing game, and couldn’t keep the game remotely close against a Mahomes-less Chiefs team. On the defensive end, they really couldn’t get too much done even with Matt Moore as QB. Trouble could be on the horizon again this week. While the Broncos do have decent wins against both the Chargers and the Titans, neither team is anything special. Denver has only scored more than 20 points this season once. Now, they’ve traded away one of their best offensive weaps in wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders and will likely struggle further on the offensive end. Overall, I don’t think the Broncos will be able to do anything offensively and they may struggle on the defensive end against T.Y. Hilton.

My NFL Week 8 Betting Pick. I’m sure you know where I’m going here…I don’t think the Broncos have any real shot of keeping this game close. The Broncos are playing this game on the road in their first game without Sanders. The Colts have been able shutdown some of the best offenses in the league. It’s not implausible to think Denver and Joe Flacco get shutout in this one. I’m expecting the Colts to blow them out of the water, so I love the Colts -5.5 (use our FanDuel Sportsbook promo code to get these odds)
