NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, February 22

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

TastefulTides: Alex Ovechkin – He broke Tuesday’s slate with the 3-point and 5-shot bonus. His price has gone down since that game. The Lightning are a well below average defensive team, especially with Mikhail Sergachev on the IR. The Lightning have allowed the 8th-most goals per game on the season. Ovi has been on fire as of late after a rough start to the season. His price is too cheap, and I think he will go under-owned on this large slate.

ezellmt: Vincent Trocheck – Trocheck has 4 consecutive games with 5 shots and is seeing absurd usage with an average of 23 minutes of ice time during that span. The matchup with New Jersey isn’t a scary one, but I doubt he sees extreme ownership due to the size of the slate and the number of other quality options.

boggslite: Matthew Tkachuk – A matchup against a talented Hurricanes team may seem risky, but Carolina has suffered from poor goaltending throughout much of this season. Tkachuk’s size and strength can cause fits, and in a game that should play at a fast pace, paying up for him could pay dividends in tournaments.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
