What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – When the slates get smaller, I adjust my goalie strategy quite a bit. Stacking the goalie with skaters becomes a better strategy. If that skater goes off for multiple points, the goalie will likely get the win and be in the running for top-performing goalie of the night. Also, leveraging the goalie against the high ownership becomes a better strategy as well. For example, Tampa Bay should have high ownership, and I don’t think people will be clamoring to play the opposing goalie, Jordan Binnington, given how bad he has been, but this is goalie we are talking about, and anything can happen, and if Binnington puts up a ceiling game, not only will you get him at low ownership, but you will also take a lot of Lightning stacks out of the running for those top GPP prizes.
Joda: Large-field tournaments are my preferred format tonight. The duo of Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov looks like a good starting point, and given how much Tampa Bay relies on them for offensive production, I would look to get overweight on them and differentiate elsewhere. Anaheim has many viable options, given the pristine power-play matchup against Seattle. Additionally, over their last 10 games, Seattle has allowed the most expected goals against per 60 minutes at 5v5, so it is all systems go for the high-flying Ducks.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
