What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – Washington is the most important matchup on the slate. At home vs. the Ducks, with their backup goalie in net, the Capitals have the highest projected total on the slate. I think playing the chalk is fine. I think fading them and playing the opposing goalie, Petr Mrazek, is fine to get leverage on the field. We do have to be around near the start of the slate to see what lines they run though. With Tom Wilson out and Aliaksei Protas questionable, it’s hard to say what the 5v5 lines will be.
Joda: Large-field tournaments are my preferred format tonight. The combination of pricing and the Ducks’ defensive shortcomings should lead to Washington-heavy lineups. I am OK with eating that chalk and looking for low-owned secondary stacks and pieces around it. I could also see flipping the script or game stacking with the Ducks. The other game that interests me is DET/OTT, as both teams have worthwhile spends. For salary relief and to make everything work, I will be looking to the Flames.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
