NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Monday, March 9
Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?
Moneyball16: Tim Stuetzle
Joda: Jakob Chychrun
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field tournaments – On these smaller slates, I always like to stack my goalie more often with skaters, with the thought process being that if the skater goes off, the goalie should at least get the win. With only 4 games and only 4 winning goalies, that alone gives you a good shot at one of the top-performing goalies. Also, Jake Sanderson left last game due to injury, and today the Senators called up another defenseman, so it looks like he could be hurt. If he is hurt, Thomas Chabot, who was already a good play with Sanderson, becomes an excellent play at only $4,200, with a strong track record and a great matchup.
Joda: Large-field tournaments are my preferred format tonight. Washington, Utah, and Ottawa are my favorite teams to target. Logan Thompson figures to dominate a large share of the goalie ownership, as Calgary is very friendly to opposing netminders, but the Capitals have not looked good, dropping 3 straight games. Calgary had a respectable performance against Carolina the other night, and all of their guys are cheap. I see them as a contrarian option against the most popular goalie on this small slate.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
