What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – On a slate this small, with only 4 games, stacking the goalie with skaters from the same team always becomes a good strategy. If those skaters produce enough to give you a shot to win a GPP, then the corresponding goalie will likely be one of the four goalies to at least get a win as well. If I am not stacking a goalie, I am likely going to play Jet Greaves in lineups where I have no Oilers. The Oilers are going to be extremely popular, and if they bust, a lot of lineups with Jet Greaves going against them and none of them in the lineup will look good. Also, despite the Oilers’ offensive firepower, they haven’t had a very high shooting percentage these last couple of seasons, so generally speaking, it is not the worst matchup for a goalie to face.
Joda: Single-entry tournaments are my preferred format tonight. It is hard to find a path where Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are unsuccessful, and the price on Jack Roslovic is tough to get away from given his production over the past 2 weeks, so I will look to differentiate elsewhere. One idea I like is running it back with Columbus in a game stack, given the Oilers’ ineptitude in net. They gave up a staggering 9 goals to Colorado the other night, as both Oiler netminders struggled.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
