What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: I will be playing large-field GPPs. In these big Saturday slates, I like smaller stacks than normal. Stacking is still important, but I think large stacks (4 players or more) are more valuable in smaller slates. Also, despite the value with Colorado, I will not be playing any of these guys as one-offs. Play some COL correlation together in a lineup or fade completely. I am also normally a big fan of goalie stacking, but I think the value of that is neutralized in these huge slates as well.
TastefulTides: I mainly play single-entry and smaller-field, higher-dollar GPPs. There continues to be dirt cheap players who are in great offensive roles. I will continue to take advantage of the underpriced players. This will allow me to pay for the high-end stacks and one-offs. Right now, Colorado is my favorite high-end stack, and due to the value, you can get to them pretty easily. I will also be keeping an eye on the Sam Montembeault ownership. If he comes in as a popular goaltender, I will likely try and play some of the cheaper Ottawa players.
Hunter4ever89: I will mainly play single-entry and small-field, high-dollar tournaments. Those are my preferred contests on almost every slate. I will continue to exploit underpriced players who have high-upside roles. Cutter Gauthier is just one example of a first-line, top power-play option at just $2,800. Even though some of these plays will end up very chalky, we’ve seen it pay off big to start the season. I will look to get different elsewhere in my lineups. There are a lot of big names in excellent matchups, which should help spread out ownership.

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
