NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Tuesday, April 7

Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?

Moneyball16: Jason Robertson
boggslite: Cole Caufield
Joda: Jason Robertson

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – Outside of the top line for Dallas, who will be very popular, there is a real lack of great line stacks. And there is also a lack of truly elite top-end talent. This is all despite a large field. I don’t like to go the route of putting cash-game lineups in GPPs, but here I will do my best to get creative and string together 2- and 3-man stacks (often with the 3rd player being a defenseman) the best I can. At goalie, I don’t particularly like anyone, so I will probably stay away from chalk there and use that as a position to get a little different.

boggslite: Large-field tournaments – I expect ownership to be spread out with several different ways to approach this slate. While Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid are always in play, I slightly prefer the matchups for Dallas and Montreal. Both teams are jockeying for playoff position and draw excellent matchups at home. There isn’t a ton of great value to target, so I will likely look to save some salary at goalie with a guy like Jeremy Swayman, who should see a high volume of shots.

Joda: Large-field tournaments – I am not thrilled about the one-off values, so I will be looking for more full-line correlation. It’s also one of the rare slates where Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid are in average matchups on the road. This leads me to skaters like Cole Caufield, Jason Robertson, and Kirill Kaprizov in great matchups on home ice against Florida, Calgary, and Seattle. As an under-the-radar stack, I like the look of the Ducks, as Nashville is on the tail end of a back-to-back.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
