What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – One strategy that looks better than normal is being overweight on goalies facing popular teams. I expect Colorado, Minnesota, and Nashville to be the most popular stacks on the slate, and I think the opposing goalies are solid value on top of leveraging against a large amount of the field. Karel Vejmelka, for Utah facing Minnesota, has solid expected wins and goals against numbers for his price. Tristan Jarry should face a lot of shots vs. Colorado. At home, he is playing in an arena with a very liberal shot bias. Also, whoever the Calgary starter is facing, Nashville has potential against a team that has shot only 7.4% this season.
Joda: Single-entry tournaments are my preferred format tonight. With a struggling Nashville team likely to have the chalkiest pieces rostered on this slate, completely fading them in single entry could pay dividends. Until Nashville shows some life, I would rather be late than early, especially at the projected ownership levels. With 11 games, there are plenty of other sources of value to attack.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
